When you find yourself in a Waiting Season...

This ritual of planting tiny, lifeless looking seeds into the dark of soil feels like a new sort of worship. The plunging of seeds into the dark of earth, believing new life will come from this burial. The lift it’s given my spirits and the hope encompassed in the planting of such small, lifeless looking seeds – and then being filled with inexplicable joy at seeing those first tiny green sprouts, the color of new life, poking their brave heads above the soil… Maybe my idea of growing enough plants to have a small local plant sale won’t work out like I hope.

Hands down, the best houseplants you can't kill!

A SUPER SIMPLE, FAST FIX TO SIMPLIFY AND BEAUTIFY YOUR HOME AND LIFE. And now, for our plants of iron… Pothos are one of the easiest and toughest trailing plants available and my Golden was the first plant I fell in love with because it was so easy to care for. I let it dry out in between waterings (I’m fighting my tendency to love my plants to death by overwatering). Again, you can tell I’m kind of a sucker for these trailing plants.

Cheesy Sausage Veggie Quiche -w/ crust you DON'T have to make yourself

Whether you’re craving comfort food, or planning a girl’s weekend brunch, or want a deliciously satisfying family dinner, this cheesy sausage veggie quiche is just the ticket. The golden, flaky crust cradles a cheesy, colorful filling, brimming with savory flavors, veggies…and well, it’s enough to make my family drool. And sweet friend, if you’re really short on time, by all means, feel free to grab yourself a pre-made pie crust from the store. MY GIRLS, THE PURPLE HYDRANGEA AND FARMHOUSE MADE, AND I GET TOGETHER AND BRING YOU

Seed Starting Essentials for the Newbie gardener

(I’m sharing the link at the end of this post) all about gardening, starting seeds, transplanting, growing, and All The Things. In the past, when I tried starting my own seeds, I threw some soil into a seed starting tray, plopped some seeds in, watered, and hoped for the best. Our company and seeds have been featured in The New York Times, The Associated Press, Oprah Magazine, NPR, Martha Stewart, The Wall Street Journal, and many others. I haven’t before, but this year, I’m feeling pretty good about my odds since now I’ve got CaliKim’s YouTube channel in my back pocket, holding my hand, and telling me all the things I need to know.
