Dia De Los Muertos in Dallas

so early we weren’t able to see the event at it’s full potential because we had to leave early in order to make it to the parade on time. Well that didn’t last long because we made the executive decision to get out of the taco line to find a better spot we decided to catch the parade as they made their way back to city hall. The kids were able to see everything (shout-out to the people beside us who allowed them the To get close enough to the rail) and not only that more floats and more people joined the parade as they were walking back to the starting point. I’m so happy we were able to go as a family and that I was able to show Terrence and the kids a part of culture that’s so beautiful and meaningful.

but I think it’s different for us moms we always tend to freak out during birthdays because they’re one step closer to not needing us as much. this our first official birthday party at our house so that’s two milestone in one. Then Terrence decided to grill and add more food to the menu like we were feeding 20+ people, it was about 10 of us at our house lol. She had a bouncy house, balloons, cake, pizza (her favorite food in the world) friends and family that loves her so much!

FREE Kid Friendly Events for Dia De Los Muertos around the DFW

Dia de los muertos or Day of the dead is a day that I grew up looking forward to besides Christmas Day! Dia de los muertos is a day where we remember and celebrate our loved ones who have passed on. A lot of people decorate their loved ones last resting place and others make an ofrenda or day of the dead offering (altar) where you place a picture, things, food and drinks your loved one enjoyed when they were alive. So last year I randomly came across a Dia De Los Muertos event it was my first time E V E R coming anything like it.
