Ryder Cup 2018: Americans pummeled by Europeans in Paris

, you know, that’s a pretty cool thing that you’ll have for the rest of your life, and that’s something that he will carry in his career, knowing that on the biggest stage, against the best player that’s ever played, I can stand up and do great things. We’ve known each other for a long time and there’s a continuity in our group that maybe the other side don’t quite have, just because of the rookies coming in and the new guys, but even the rookies in our team, we’ve all known for a long time; I first played with Thorbjørn in the Egyptian Open in 2010. The togetherness of the team, the great camaraderie we have, that’s built up on The European Tour, and obviously we all have our separate lives going on, but once we get together for The Ryder Cup, we all come together as one. But Thomas has pulled his team together and I’m not including us 12 as a team, but the entire team behind the scenes to make all this work, and that’s what’s been very, very impressive.

Ryder Cup 2018: Sunday singles line-up

The singles lineup has some potentially exciting matches, kicking off with Rory McIlroy vs. Justin Thomas, who might be the new Captain America after Patrick Reed’s crappy performance so far at Le Golf National. Listen, if you look at the right side of this, you know, that lineup, that American lineup was always going to be extremely strong, and it doesn’t matter; we need to win our points tomorrow. So we have 12 important matches tomorrow, but you’d like to get off to that fast start like you saw at Brookline, like you saw at Medinah, and when that momentum gets going one way, it puts a lot of pressure on those middle matches. We set up our lineup accordingly and put the guys out in the fashion that we felt like, you know, we’re trying to make some magic tomorrow.

Ryder Cup 2018: Europe steamrolls through Saturday

You know, when you put the best players on a golf course in the world, you want to see demanding golf courses. I feel like we’ve been out on the golf course and done the right things. Whatever the golf course is, the golf course is, and it’s what’s in front of us. *Fleetwood became the first European Tour rookie in Ryder Cup history to win four matches during the opening two days of the event *If Fleetwood wins another point in tomorrow’s singles match, he will become only the second rookie in Ryder Cup history, and the first European, to win all five of their matches.

Ryder Cup 2018: Americans fizzle in afternoon sesh, Europeans sweep foursomes

The Europeans swept the Americans in Friday’s afternoon foursome matches to take a 5-3 lead after the opening day of the Ryder Cup. There’s a lot of golf left; Can’t believe the captain paired player x and x (Bryson and Phil re: today; not that I don’t agree) together. This afternoon, he went out with a guy that he’s got history with; that they love playing golf together, so they went out and did what they can do this afternoon. But I made quite clear all along that I’m not in any way, shape or form qualified to tell golf, but I’m qualified to lead him in a direction with the people he’s surrounding himself with this week to get good things out of him.
