Highlights
Capturing Little Moments: Newborn Photography

just you and your baby, quietly learning about one another as you rock that baby back to sleep in the middle of the night. I have the mom cradle her newborn in a way that shows off the baby in most of the picture, and highlights just the moms’ face snuggling her baby. I want shadows and a soft focus on mom and baby, so natural light is key for me. And while the baby always calls the shots – yes we have had babies that refuse to sleep or cooperate – the focus is always to capture the baby in that moment.

Rosie's Post-Easter Thoughts

Whatever your religious beliefs, Easter is celebrated by so many with family dinners and vacation, with the delight on kids faces as they discover trails left by the Easter bunny or with Jesus, your God or your personal belief system. This idea of peace coming from within is a long-standing, taught in the Bible and several other important philosophies. I also think it’s a wonderful message to keep with you not only for Easter but everyday, and it’s something worth sharing with your children or with your babies to be. I wish you peace and love this spring and beyond, and hope that you’ll try love today instead of anger, even when it’s difficult.

Working Out After Your Baby

I am a big believer in working out as soon as possible post-pregnancy, but don’t worry, I am not talking leaping around the countryside like a gazelle right away (if ever! ). Instead, try your best to work in a form of exercise that elevates your heart rate for 20 mins each day. Having done this four times over, I find that it affects my milk supply (hello, dehydration! ) and let’s face it, is virtually impossible on the minimal number of hours you are sleeping between feedings, laundry, sterilizing pump pieces, cuddles (my fave) and all the other important to-dos on the list each day. * Love Me Now (Dave Aude Remix), John Legend – because surely your other half is thinking at this very moment how much you look like Chrissy Tiegan, because you’re gorgeous.

Pregnancy Food Cravings: The Good, The Bad, The Strange

So no, you are certainly not crazy for asking hubby to make you a lemonade and ice frozen delight in the middle of the night or find pickles at the deli counter enticing for the first time ever. There are certainly many theories and a lot of old wives tales about why you crave certain things, so we decided to check out the top craved foods so that you know what to expect and why. : No one knows for sure why women often crave strange combinations of foods, but the theory is that it ensures a wide range of nutrients get to baby. If you get a hankering for some chalk, soil or other non-food items, call your doctor right away as it may be a sign of a condition called Pica, which is dangerous and could be a sign of iron deficiency.
