Affordable Student Desks for Remote Learning and Home Schooling

As information from school districts around the country continues to evolve regarding the return to in-person school versus remote learning for the fall, I’ve heard from many friends who are struggling to find small, affordable desks for their kids to create a dedicated school-at-home work space. fit a desk into your kid’s room, or even how to create a dedicated work from home space for yourself, consider using a small writing desk in place of a night stand. In this post about home office ideas for small spaces, I show you how I created a compact but efficient work space for myself in the corner of our guest room, including tips on organizing the desktop to make the most of the small space. If none of the desks listed above fit your needs, try using the search terms “writing desk,” “laptop desk,” and “mini desk” as you shop online.

Why You Need Shelf Liner + Cleaning & Organizing Hacks

19 Ways to Use Shelf & Drawer Liner All Around the House Shelf and drawer liner – as the name implies – is great for lining shelves and drawers. In your dish cabinets, shelf liner protects the shelves from nicks and scratches, and in the pantry shelf liner keeps shelves free of stains from food leaks and spills. Adding plastic liner – like Clear Classic Easy Liner – gives your wire shelving a clean, solid surface that prevents small items from falling through and is easy to clean. Over time, I’ve come to prefer non-adhesive shelf liners – like the Clear Classic Easy Liner and the Fabric Topped Easy Liner – for my shelves and drawers, but adhesive liners come in lots of pretty patterns and can be used in a variety of creative ways.

How to Create Wall Words Using Cricut

Ok, now that I’ve shown you some examples of how you can use wall words to design a home that uniquely reflects you family, let me show you just how easy it is to create these large scale wall words using Cricut! In order to fit your quote to your 12″ x 24″ mat, you’ll need to separate your quote into two or more lines (using separate text boxes), with each line of text being no longer than 23.5 inches. Overlap the end of one strip of transfer tape with the start of the next strip of transfer tape to adhere each line of text together into one long, continuous quote. Using your Cricut scraper (a kitchen scraper or the flat edge of a butter knife also works well), firmly burnish (rub) the transfer tape to the vinyl, then flip it over and slowly peel away the blue backing, leaving the vinyl letters attached to the transfer tape.

How to Create Labels Using Cricut Joy

I used adhesive vinyl to cut out words to label the bins on the top shelf, I created cardstock labels to perfectly fit the label holders I purchased for each of the drawers, and I designed custom stickers to label all of my small craft supplies. Thanks to Cricut’s new Smart Vinyl designed exclusively for use with Cricut Joy, I can now create these impactful vinyl labels by feeding a roll of vinyl directly into the machine without using a mat. How to Create Custom Stickers Using Smart Label Writable Vinyl As much as I love creating simple, cut out word labels using adhesive vinyl, I was intrigued by the new Cricut Joy Smart Label Writable Vinyl and was excited to try it out. Unlike the prior two labels that I created using adhesive vinyl, I wanted to write and cut these labels on cardstock to insert into the label holders.
