It's National Park Week so we will be sharing some of our favorites! Did you know... 1. Glacier National Park is part of the first international peace park in the world. It symbolizes friendship and peace between Canada and the United States. 2. Currently, the park boasts 26 named glaciers, a far cry from the 150 that existed in 1850. The Harrison Glacier is the largest remaining. 3. The Amtrak Empire Builder route that runs between Washington and Chicago stops at East Glacier Park Village, just steps from the park entrance. 4. Itโs a mountain goat haven! Keep an eye out for the agile mountain goat, the park's official symbol. These sure-footed creatures forage and observe visitors from a safe distance. 5. Whether you're marveling at glaciers, hiking scenic trails, or simply soaking in the breathtaking views, Glacier National Park promises an unforgettable adventure! ๐๐๏ธ #nationalparksusa #bucketlist #NationalParkWeek
๐ What an adventure! Travel is much deeper than just a journey from one place to another; it's stepping out of our comfort zones and immersing ourselves in new cultures and landscapes and opening our hearts and minds to it all. It's a reminder that our world is vast, diverse, and teeming with wonders waiting to be discovered. ๐ฟ๐๏ธ As we reflect on our three months of traversing the extraordinary and magical land of New Zealand, we are filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The rugged mountains, pristine lakes, lush forests, and dramatic coastlines have woven their spell around us. ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ New Zealand is a country of natural beautyโa place where ancient kauri trees whisper in the wind, where geothermal pools bubble and steam, and where rolling hills are dotted with sheep. But it's not just the landscapes; it's the peopleโthe warm-hearted Kiwis who welcome you with open arms. It's the thrill of hiking the Tongariro Crossing, the awe of standing before the Pancake Rocks, and the serenity of a boat ride through Doubtful Sound. โจ๐ณ๐ฟ Thank you for coming on this adventure with us! And if you ever get the chance, pack your bags, leave behind the familiar, and let the magic of New Zealand cast its spell upon you. โ๏ธ๐ฆ We can't wait to share our next adventure with you ~ Australia here we come! #TravelIsGoodForTheSoul #purenewzealand
We spent our last few days in New Zealand wandering around Christchurch. Even though it's the largest city on the South Island, it has a population of only 380,000 so it didn't feel crowded and is very manageable to walk around. The city is still recovering from two devastating earthquakes that hit in 2010 and 2011. Some historic buildings like the Christchurch Cathedral are still under construction, but many have reopened. โค๏ธHere are a few of our favorite places we visited: ~Riverside Market ~The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora ~Botanic Garden ~Riverwalk
