Things I Love About Our New Home

We decided to take down a wall between the kitchen and living room giving us a more open floorplan. With the wall out of the way, we were able to add about two and a half feet to the kitchen island giving us room for five stools and extra cabinet space. It’s the centerpiece of the living room and I love how the tile surround matches the backslash in the kitchen. the primary bedroom and Gwen’s room just need light fixtures.

What We've Been Eating

I’ve been cooking double batches of recipes so that we can eat leftovers at least twice each week. I make a point to cook more on weekends when Charles has more time to help with Gwen so that during the week, when things can get tricky, I don’t have to worry about what we are having for dinner. Then I add runny poached or sunny side up eggs on top and add any extra taco toppings. I buy the pizza dough at my local grocery store and add fresh mozzarella and anything else that I find in my fridge: sausage, bell peppers, prosciutto, mushrooms, spinach, and onions are the toppings I can usually find on hand.

TikTok ... is the worst

It’s also the photo that the TikTok user @joyceandlove has stolen to use as her profile picture. The person behind the @joyceandlove account leaves horrifically racist comments on other people’s accounts. For those of you unfamiliar with TikTok, the app has a functionality that lets people create their own videos replying to these comments. So while “Joyce” has just 27 followers and a private account… some of the videos sharing her hate speech alongside my image have been viewed 27,000 times and have 1800 comments.
