Save $$$ with these sustainable swaps ♻️ #AsIAm #AsIAmPartner Many sustainable swaps can be expensive — but there are some essentials that I use that have actually been cost savers overtime. 💧Reusable Water Bottle: Maybe an obvious one but by switching to a reusable water bottle you could be saving ~$500 a month PLUS you’re reducing all that single-use plastic from entering our landfills because only 9% of plastic is actually recycled 💀 🐑Wool Dryer Balls: I’ve been using the same wool dryer balls for over a year and haven’t purchased dryer sheets in who knows how long. They are affordable and reusable! 🧼Shampoo Bars: Shampoo bars can definitely vary in price but these bars from @asiamnaturally are only $7 a bar!! Some of the cheapest I’ve seen. Plus you save even more $$$ with their Co-Wash bar that doubles as hair + body care. Reduce plastic waste + save money = a win win. ♻️Reusable Silicone Bags: I haven’t purchased plastic sandwich bags in years and it’s because I use reusable / washable silicone bags! Impulse (secondhand) buys are not sustainable ❌ I can’t tell you the amount of secondhand clothing that I’ve purchased that I’ve only worn once or not at all💀 which is why it’s still so important to shop consciously EVEN when buying secondhand clothing. That’s why I always ask myself the following questions before purchasing: (whether used or new) 1. Does it fit me well? 2. Does this piece make me happy when I wear it? 3. Do I see myself wearing this more than 30x in the next year or only a handful of times? 4. If the piece is for an event, can I still rewear it for similar events? (Like weddings) 5. Do I have something similar in my closet already? 6. Is the item quality made and will last me through the years or is it cheaply put together that I’ll need to replace in a couple months?
