Don't have eclipse glasses. Here's another option. A box projector. Things needed Box White paper Pen or pencil Scissors Tape Aluminum foil Needle or pin Trace bottom of box on white paper and cut out. Place white paper at inside the box at the bottom (tape or glue it down) Cut two holes in the top of the box tape the center shut. On one hole cover with foil using tape to secure it to box. Take pin needle and poke one hole in the middle of the foil. During the eclipse have the sun to your back and watch the show happen at the bottom of the box. We have driven across multiple states, with a packed vehicle of pets and kid. Others have flown from overseas, driven cross country, over multiple days. Leave time is limited, and the last thing we want to do is schedule time to drive around seeing people. (There are exceptions to this - I will drive to go visit with grandparents who have a hard time coming to us). For me, I like to plan a lunch/BBQ and invite everyone. That way, I have a day to see people and still enjoy some downtime. It's not that we don't want to see everyone.
