The Debate: The Boring Truth About My Skin (And Probably Yours)

Ever notice how when your skin is freaking out, you pare back your routine to the bare minimum? Like me, you probably cut out strong actives such as acids and retinol, up the hydration and stick to only three-five products (or less) in a routine. Sound familiar? It is something I think almost everyone does instinctively and there’s a good reason for it – this just might be what our skin really wants from us

MINTD Box April 18 Review

These ingredients also help reduce the chance of irritation because they work to protect and calm the skin while it clears away the dead skin cells. If you find traditional acids too strong or irritating for your skin then something like this with fruit enzymes are a great option because they work to clear, brighten and smooth the skin, but are far more gentle. I use my jade roller as often as I can and absolutely love how it feels and how my skin looks after I use it. I love to use this with an oil (Omorovicza have a beautiful one) or sheet mask and after just a few minutes I feel relaxed and my skin is plump and glowing.

MINTD Box March 18 Review

Thankfully this month’s MINTD Box arrived at the perfect time (about 4 weeks ago now, oops) and even though the theme for March is ‘Spring Clean’, what this box did was breathe some much needed life back in to my skin and give it a mega boost of hydration and healing. This product is one I wasn’t expecting to like as much as I do and that’s down to the fact that it contains lactic acid, which is an ingredient my skin doesn’t love. It helps to refresh my skin, but also has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and soothing properties that mean even if my skin was very dry (like it was most of winter), it wouldn’t make that worse. Sheet masks aren’t my favourite to be honest, so I’m always happy when I find one that actually gives good results and doesn’t irritate my skin.

MINTD Box December 17 Review

After practically a full year of seriously loving almost every box (I didn’t review all of them) from MINTD this year, I was still completely surprised by how incredible this box was when it arrived. It has a lovely light and soft texture that glides on to the skin more like a creamy mousse then a clay mask and it doesn’t dry down hard or crumbly. It has some excellent skin healing and purifying ingredients like white clay, marula oil, resurrection plant, hematite, zincite and rooibos extract to detox, tone, reduce inflammation, heal acne, soothe redness as well as nourish, renew and protect the skin. I can’t believe we have already come to the last MINTD Box review of the year, but I am so excited for what’s to come in 2018 and so happy to have been a part of the journey this year.
