Take the brie out of the freezer and with a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut into the cheese. You can pair this Sweet and Savory Date Night Charcuterie Board with this Blood Orange Margarita or this Easy Watermelon Margarita.

Here we are in the last weeks of 2020 with more charcuteries and wine. ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿท Lately, I have gotten into red wines and recently I bought a bottle of @robertmondavips Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon. #RMPSPartner #For21+ This Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in barrels that a renowned distillery once used to age their bourbon. This process slowly layers the wine with hints of bourbon's classic vanilla, toasty biscuit and light caramel flavors which gives it a velvety finish. It is high quality affordable wine $13-$15!! It makes an excellent gift for any red wine lover. You can find it in a store near you or get same day delivery. Use code RMPS2021 and save $5, courtesy of @Drizlyinc. {New 21+ Users Only. Comparison is the thief of joy... ...yet here we are still doing it. Why are we like this? ๐Ÿฅด I had to take a break last week because if I am honest, I am burnt out, tired, and done with 2020.๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธAlso the more I scrolled through IG the more I felt that I wasn't doing enough. You know, the good ol' impostor syndrome creeped in.๐Ÿง I have high expectations for myself. I am very critical of my work. For example, I did a photoshoot for a brand and I wasn't happy at all with the photos. I had an idea in my head and it didn't translate to the photo. So I had to reshoot the whole thing and I was STILL not happy with the results. So, I sent them anyway and waited anxiously for the brand's feedback. Guess what? It was all in my head. The damn pictures were great and the brand loved them. We get caught up into the comparison trap and that is not good for our mental health. I often have to remind myself that someone always will have better pictures than me, but they are not ME.๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ What I am trying to say is, everybody has those days, feel your feelings, take a break, do whatever you need to do to get back to your creative self.โœจ YOU are the secret ingredient to the sauce. YOU are the bomb. YOU got this. ๐Ÿ’œ

A lot can change in a year.... I can' believe it's been a year since I moved to the PNW.๐Ÿ—ป This is the last Fall content I will put out before getting into the -Mariah level of extra- holiday content. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ These past 8 months have been challenging but it allowed me to pivot and take my blog into a full time business. BUT that didn't happen overnight. Usually folks assume that this is easy and all we do is "take pictures" There is so much that goes into it: managing a blog, creating recipes, planing photo shoots & editing photos, creating captions, managing Instagram and any other social media we partake on, discuss topics that are important to us, brand negotiations, endless emails, marketing, promoting, continuously learning....whew the list is endless.๐Ÿ˜… It is a lot of work! So hereโ€™s a list of what I have learned in the past 5 years to make ALL of this happen: 1. Invest in continuous learning, otherwise you will not grow. 2. YOU have to be happy with the content that you put out in the world- if you are just throwing content out to see if it sticks, you will be unhappy and it will show in your content. 3. You can outgrow your niche and change - we are constantly evolving. Right now you are not even the person you were 6 months ago. If it no longer serve your purpose you can always change it. 3. DO you want your favorite brand to notice you? you have to put quality content out there. Get better at photography, get better at writing copy, learn how to make videos etc. 4. Don't work for free. Treat your blog like a business. Charge for your work. Free product & Exposure does not pay the maintenance of your blog, equipment fees, recipe ingredients, and most importantly: YOUR time. 5. Someone else's success will not dampen yours. Build a community and be supportive of others. It's been a tough year, Share a win that you had this year!๐Ÿฅณ

In the blog I share the history of this delicious desserts as well as how we use Sweet Potato in Puerto Rico.๐Ÿฅณ Go check it out. You need this in your life!โœจ link in bio! Have you ever had Coquito??๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ท Coquito is a creamy coconut-y boozy creamy drink thatโ€™s from Puerto Rico and we drink during the holidays.๐ŸŽ„ We start making Coquito as Early as November and drink it all the way through Three Kingโ€™s Day in January 6. **Cue: Dame la Mano Palomaaa๐ŸŽถ**๐Ÿ˜‚ Also Coquito is NOT eggnog, nor it contains any eggs.๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Thereโ€™s debate as to how Coquito originated. One of the theories is that during Colonization, the Spaniards brought the drink to the island. Taking a spin on the Spanish โ€œEggnogโ€ adding a Spirit therefore ending up with Coquito. Maybe the real story is that a Taรญno or an African created the OG recipe and the Spaniards wanted to take credit for it as colonizers have been known to do.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Through out the years families have adapted and created their own recipes, but in essence we all make it with the same foundation ingredients. Here is MY recipe on How to make the best Coquito. I put a secret ingredient to add more cheer to it!! ๐ŸŽ‰ Recipe is live on the blog. Link in Bio!!โœจ
