The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

When Grace learns that Lucy Moynihan, the former occupant of her new home, was run out of town for having accused the popular guys at school of gang rape, she’s incensed that Lucy never had justice. For their own personal reasons, Rosina and Erin feel equally deeply about Lucy’s tragedy, so they form an anonymous group of girls at Prescott High to resist the sexist culture at their school, which includes boycotting sex of any kind with the male students. I this book is coming of age and tackled issues like sexism, rape culture,  victim blaming, misogyny, racism, being sex positive, consent, as well as discovering one This certain line in the book, with this character talking about his trans sister, and it’s pretty offensive, implying trans people choose to be trans.

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman

With a mother who makes her feel unremarkable and a half-Japanese heritage she doesn’t quite understand, Kiko prefers to keep her head down, certain that once she makes it into her dream art school, Prism, her real life will begin. So when she receives an invitation from her childhood friend to leave her small town and tour art schools on the west coast, Kiko jumps at the opportunity in spite of the anxieties and fears that attempt to hold her back. And now that she is finally free to be her own person outside the constricting walls of her home life, Kiko learns life-changing truths about herself, her past, and how to be brave. The book talks a lot about family and the relationships within, dreams, passions, and realising one’s self worth.

Book Review: One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake

And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent. In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other. But that’s just cause I’m still rooting for Kat, lol. The pacing was waaayyy faster that the first book, which is a pretty good thing.
