Thinking we were professionals at hiking high peaks, seeing as we already had a couple under our belts including the first and second tallest, we decided to tackle a high peak in the winter. I did a little research online looking up winter hikes, and was informed that Cascade and Porter were good first winter high peaks to try. We stopped for some gas and shortly after our car broke down, three girls in the dark with no service, five hours away from home. He agreed to take us three girls into his tow truck, which was one person over what it could fit, and drove us an hour to Lake Placid to drop our car off at the auto shop.
