Ep. 141 How this digital content creator travels the world raising awareness on colorism and self love with Ayn Bernos

I feel like there are so many things that happen in our life where we finally just kind of realize that this is not what we want to do, or we see someone doing it like, “ So now I like doing it because I have this whole community of like-minded people who want the same things, but also I can be myself. So if you want to speak to helpful experts who can make your life easier when you’re on the road, like I know we do most of the time it just happens for no reason, right? And every time we would be seen together, especially in places like Makati, I would have to dress up really nicely so people wouldn’t assume the worst about me.

Ep. 140: How this nomadic podcaster and entrepreneur awakens his curiosity with travel with Sam Harris

I actually need to learn how to code to sort of make cool ideas happen, but it hasn’t stopped me from doing a lot of other things, the amount of time that I’ve put into it. That’s still great because I could be doing like five other things in that time instead of wasting endless hours doing some stuff that’s a bit fluffy. So yeah, I guess I’d like to help people to spend more time being happy and not wasting their time getting angry and ruining things that they don’t need to. , it’s kind of exciting because I’ve got to the point of being kind of mid-level developer and might be doing some pretty cool things at different companies depending on which one I end up at, which is kind of exciting.

Ep. 139 How these travel podcasters are able to encourage others to see the world with Amanda and Ryan

I think that like thousand dollars a month number is a really good one because that’s the type of salary that if you’re trying to live and work on $1,000 a month in L.A., New York, Atlanta or in Calgary, Alberta, it’s going to be really challenging. I mentioned this because one of my friends is actually doing this right now and everything that she’s been doing lately, she’s here in New York City and because of all of the house sitting that she’s doing, she’s only going to be spending $300 in three months, which is crazy if you think about it in New York City. And over time maybe you don’t connect as much with the community versus being by yourself where you have to go out and meet new people to connect and to find out more and you’re going to get like deeply embedded in that community in a way that sometimes it’s easier not to if you’re in a couple. And so, I want to look back on my life and just see that I’ve lived my life my way and not been swayed by what other people think I ought to be doing with my life, whether that’s getting a job at a big company or making a ton of money or like buying a big house or doing all those things, like having a family and having really meaningful connections with other people is important and that’s I want to look back on as well.

My Offbeat Journey: How to turn your business from hobby to profitable Business

Even before leaving my day job and when I started and failed 3 other businesses, I’ve always had an issue in figuring out when a hobby is just a hobby and when to turn it into a profitable business. I do believe that taking a hobby and turning it into a profitable business is often hard for most people because we have this huge misconception that if we make money from doing something that we love, it can be ruined or we are selling out as creators. My answer is, if you have the passion for it, it is not often that you will feel like it is work, and when it does feel like work, you have so much passion for it, that the motivation will keep you going. The money came when I needed it, and it made my work so much better because I felt like people were paying me for a great job I was doing and because they thought the services that I gave was worth the money that I was charging.
