Abominable snowman!

Minute maid sent me a message last week and asked for our address so they could send us a free gift. We got a couple juice boxes, lots of construction paper, cotton balls, scissors, glue, and just everything you could think of for a craft. Then I cut out mittens and shoes and hot glued those as well. The girls wanted more so we added hats and scarves!

Martin Luther King Jr

By Martin Luther King III provides a great perspective on Dr. MLK Jr.’s life. The other book is called, “Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King” by Jean Marzollo. This book does a great job at explaining Dr. MLK Jr’s message of equality. The text is very easy to understand and provides a great history of Dr. MLK Jr’s life.

Weather Part 2

I added shaving cream to some water in a glass, then added drops of food coloring. It’s always a surprise to my kids when they use a white crayon on dark paper since they usually just overlook white. Rustad’s book ” Tornadoes” also provides good information about how tornadoes form. I added water to a glass jar, a couple of drops of dish soap, and some glitter then swirled to make a tornado.

Weather Part 1

It has great information to add to the book and then we used cotton balls to make clouds! For our wind study, we went outside and talked about things the wind could and couldn’t move. The sign doesn’t normally move in the wind, but it could if the wind is really strong. We finished up our wind study by using a teachers pay teachers activity where we sorted things that would and wouldn’t blow in the wind.
