Movie Review: Cats – Put it in a Bag, in a River with a Brick! #Review by @RamblingLisa #Cats #Musical #Movies #FilmAdaptation #Blog

Can’t think of a better way to see out the year, than with a scathing review of a horrible movie lol! Check out Lisa’s review of Cats, and then have yourselves a wonderful holiday season! A tribe of cats called the Jellicles must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new Jellicle life. Cats is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beautiful stage adaptation of T. S. Eliot’s collection of poems called ‘The Old Possums Book of Practical Cats’, or it was until Tom Hopper (director of Les Miserable) got the marvellous idea to turn it into a film… I went into the screening of Cats with my claws partially out as I had already watched the trailer, I had seen enough to make…

Movie Review by Lisa Doherty: Aladdin 2019 #Review #Disney #Aladdin @RamblingLisa

A kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true. In this live-action remake of Disney’s 1993 animated movie Aladdin, we see Will Smith take on the role of the Genie of the lamp, Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. I had heard that there was a lot of negativity surrounding the casting of Will Smith as Genie but what we have to remember is that no one can ever replace Robin Williams in this role. I went into the film with an open mind and as much as I can say I wasn’t let down by the film, nor by Will Smith’s role, I was a bit…

#BookReview Rumours (Musicians Hope Book 2) by Claire Ayres @BrizzleLass

The second standalone book in the Musicians Hope series, Rumours, is an 18+ contemporary romance with some graphic scenes and a violent assault. I want to preface this review by saying that I didn’t read Entrapped, book 1 in the series, as I do If you have suffered at the hand of another within a relationship and/or if rumours have caused pain in your life you will grasp the emotions without needing the skill of the author’s words. I was sent this book for review Claire lives in Bristol, UK and has taken her inspiration from the people and the places she has seen over the years.
