Having worked as a freelance translator since 2006, I have a passion for language and foreign cultures. I also grew up in a 'travel industry' family, and, as such, had the opportunity to explore the world right from a very young age. Over the years, I have visited 6 continents.
My strong interest in writing, travel and content creation has seen me recently launch my own travel & lifestyle blog. The blog & its Instagram account are centred on inspiring local & global wanderlust - showcasing my hometown of Perth, as well as my trips further afield. My website additionally has a small lifestyle section focused on wellness & wholesome living.
I am extremely keen to build up my following and am open to any opportunities relating to travel & lifestyle content creation and writing.
Doha's Hamad International Airport has been named world's best airport at the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards. It certainly is right up there as one of my favourite airports too, along with Singapore's Changi. I was very impressed with the new Orchard indoor garden on my most recent visit to Hamad International in Oct last year. #travelblogger #travelpost #bestairportintheworld #travelnews #dohaqatar #hamadinternationalairport
Had a great time at the Perth Vegan Expo at Wellington Square this weekend! So many fabulous stalls with yummy food & gorgeous crafts, plus some wonderful sets on a solar-powered music stage, and much more! This was my second year attending, and look forward to doing so again next year 💚 #perthvegan #perthveganeats #veganfest #perthblogger #perthisok #veganperth
Hope everyone had a great Easter (if you celebrated it) 🐣💐 These were some of the cute bunny-themed goodies being sold at Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart Australia in Victoria Park over the weekend 🐰 I love how they added faces and almond-flake ears to their original tarts to turn them into bunnies! I also splurged on some of their other products too, namely the chocolate & orange tart, matcha tart and coffee bread. All were delicious and excellent quality. Highly recommended as a little indulgent snack. #perthlife #perthblog #perthisok #perthfoodgram #cheesetarts #perth
Today is Nowruz or Persian New Year, and it's something that has a personal significance to me, as my mother is of Persian origin. She is actually a Zoroastrian Parsi from India, the Parsis being descendants of Persians who fled Muslim persecution in Persia (the region of modern-day Iran) between the 8th and 10th centuries. The vast majority settled in Mumbai, India, though the diaspora now spreads far and wide around the world. They refer to today as 'Navroz'. While I have not yet visited India or Iran, the closest I have so far got to exploring that side of my heritage was my 2018 trip to the Ateshgah Zoroastrian Fire Temple in Azerbaijan, a country with strong Zoroastrian/Persian roots and influences due to its geothermal activity (Parsis worship fire) and proximity to neighbouring Iran. It was so amazing to see the familiar cultural objects and practices I had been exposed to through my mum's side of the family, and it definitely deepened my connection with that region of the world. The temple itself is on the outskirts of Baku, making it an easy half-day trip, and I recommend having a guide to explain things to you. Even Mum & I, who had some baseline knowledge about the Zoroastrian religion, still learned a lot. Here are a few photos I took during my visit there. Navroz/Nowruz Mubarak to all Persians around the world! #nowruz #Navroz #persiannewyear #travelblogger #azerbaijantravel #Zoroastrianism #ateshgah #zoroastrian #firetemple
Canteen Trigg is what you call oceanside dining! It really does make the most of Perth's stunning beaches. This particular beach is Trigg, about a 20-minute drive north of the city. It's so nice to sit outside under the distinctively striped umbrellas, take in the salty breeze (there sure was a lot of it yesterday!), soak up the sunshine and gaze out over a palette of white sands, turquoise waters, blue skies and green coastal vegetation. Or if you prefer to sit inside, it's still super airy with lots of open doors overlooking the water, not to mention plenty of lush indoor plants. I also loved the fact that they had waste-sorting bins and biodegradable cutlery. And of course the food itself was delicious and great value for money. The serve was very generous indeed! Fish & chips (I got the grilled version with kale) by the ocean, surrounded by the sounds of crashing waves - that's what I call soothing for the soul! 📍 @canteentrigg, 364 West Coast Drive, Trigg, Perth 🕒 Open daily: 6.30am-8pm #perthblog #perthdining #perthlunch #BeachsideBites #perthisok #perthrestaurant #perthcafescene

Looking for a delightful gem of a café in Perth? Add the Secret Garden Café on Angelo St in South Perth to your list! How many of you have made a quick transit stop in Doha, Qatar, during your travels? I know I have many times. On my most recent trip, however, I actually spent a week there, exploring the city beyond the airport. Read my blog post about some of the best things to see in Doha, and why it is worth more than just a transit stop. #travelblogger #travel #dohatravel #middleeasttravel #qatartravel
