Angkor Wat! Say what? . I have been dreaming about visiting this place since I first saw it in a documentary when I was like 13. Fast forward 16 years, and I finally made it! . It's not that I haven't traveled since then, but, I was waiting for the perfect time to squeeze two vacays in one 😝 . Thailand was amazing and such a cultural experience, but, Cambodia has to be my favourite country visited thus far. The people, the sights, the architecture, the food, were all amazing and I would definitely go back! Minus almost getting stuck in the country and being unable to fly out 😳 But, that's another story... 😬 . Have you been to Cambodia? Here at the 'Wat Phra Kaew' (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and loving all of the gold 🤩⠀ .⠀ Fun fact - this temple is a physical representation of the Ramayana epic, adopted in Thailand as the Ramakien.⠀ .⠀ The Ramayana is a Hindu creation epic that dates as far back as the 5th century BCE in India, and was adopted in Thailand during the Khmer and Srivijaya empires between the 8th and 13th centuries CE.⠀ .⠀ In a nutshell, the tale is about princess Sita; wife of prince Rama of the Koshul empire and his brother Lakshman being exiled from the royal family. During exile, Sita was kidnapped and Rama and Lakshman went after her. Rama and his brother received help from many consorts along the way and in particular; Hanuman. Hanuman is said to be the son of the wind god - Pawan and is often depicted as a large monkey God. Hanuman also brings the aid of "monkey soldiers" - depicted in the form of Yakshas around the temple grounds and on the wall murals. I have to say that this was one of the highlights of my trip. Phang Nga was one of the sights we were looking forward to seeing the most (aside from Angkor Wat of course). . Phang Nga Bay os home to Koh Tapu; also known as James Bond Island and is famous for its feature in 'The Man with a Golden Gun'. . The natural limestone needle rocks jutting out of the bay is a natural phenomenon and beauty that anyone who loves nature must see....

We trudge through life surrounded by abnormalities... . Was it ever intended for us to labour in the way we do; day in and day out, living check to check with no hope for the future?
