New cars aren't really a BIG deal. I mean it's not something that people really talk about much unless its monumental for some reasons. Every new car I get is monumental to me. Why? Because it wasn't too long ago that my feet were frozen in the snow waiting on the bus. Or navigating catching the bus with 5 children getting them to school and me to work. We took taxis on days I had a little more money so we could get to church and back home. Honestly, not too much time has passed since I've been stranded in hoopties that barely worked, but at least 75% of the time got us from point A to point B. People have given me cars to use to bless me and my kids. We rode it till the wheels fell off, always grateful, keeping them clean and making the most of it. All the while...keeping a picture of a Bentley on my refrigerator to remind us that where we were wasn't all there is. So today I celebrate another new car not to brag or boast but to appreciate how far I've come and to "Honor the Journey." By the way, My car is named "Lafayette" who besides being one of my faves in #Hamilton, was both an Aristocrat and a Soldier. Kinda like me...noble...ish and a fighter for sure. So whatever you are facing today....that may be kinda tough, belittling or disappointing..Honor the Journey. My golf game is better....ish.⛳ Its frustrating, because I was actually aiming for perfect. Yep. PERFECT.🙄 But that takes TIME. You don't come out to the greens and dominate after 6 lessons. Lol That's not how it works. It's the same thing with business, with a trade, writing a book, ....building, learning or creating ANYTHING takes patience, takes practice and takes TIME. ⏳ Don't get engaged in anything you aren't willing to put the time into. Working with my driver the other day and I am in LOVE with automated tees 🤣🤣 It's a little thing but it makes practicing just a little bit easier. Getting in some "driver work" at a local driving range. I needed the quiet, the exercise and the practice. While out there, I had time to think about "summer". This summer. Normally, my favorite season filled with @tigers baseball, traveling, visiting family, speaking engagements and darting from one client locale to the next... But instead, I'm halfway hitting a little white ball like it stole my mama's purse... and yet despite all that I miss, I am content. Maybe contentment, to balance my relentless ambition, was the goal all along. I have learned (am learning....) that whatever state I find myself in, therewith (that's a bible word 😅) to be content.
