Highlights

I first moved to San Diego, almost ten years ago, and always start that story with "so, I ended up auditioning & making it onto a dance team days after I moved her. I didn’t have a job, but I immediately had friends..." and those friends have been a constant for me. Since then, I’ve had a small group of girlfriends here that I’ve always felt I could rely on. Group texts, group chats, dance offs, get togethers, you name it. Like celebrating our April birthdays with Chelsea. An adorable, annual tradition for us. We weren't always together but we always sent messages & gifts. But this will be the first year where I won't get a text from her & we're not able to celebrate her birthday with her. A few months ago we lost Chelsea and sharing it with others made it feel real. but her birthday seems fitting since she’s a birthday queen and I'll take any excuse to celebrate her. To know her was a gift, to be friends with her was priceless. She was a constant joy to be around. One of the sweetest, happiest and most wholesome people I know. And I’m honored that we were friends for so long and had a wonderful relationship. We joked that she & I had this funny, woo woo connection to one another. We’d always seem to message each other randomly right when the other one needed to hear some words of support & love. And the hole left from her early departure is one I think I’ll struggle with for awhile. She will be missed terribly by those who loved her, but it’s comforting to know that she’s no longer in any pain. While it feels like our glowing girl is gone, I know she’s watching over everyone... plus I think we’ve all ‘seen’ her since her passing, which has felt like such a beautiful gift I aspire to become a person who makes others feel the way Chelsea made me and our friends feel when she was around. To feel seen, remembered, cherished, special. Our little Miss San Diego, little miss cutie, biggest Disney fan, board game enthusiast, Miss you & love you and Happy birthday 🦋 She flies with the butterflies now

Who else shed tears in school over bio & chem work? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Happy to admit that I don't know it all (just yet). You have to laugh at the struggle of looking up every other word on one page so you can decipher things. At least it's time well spent!!

There's a lot you can throw at a problem >> supplements, doctor appointments, workout classes... but addressing the foundational items of your health is where I would suggest you should start. Why?? Because taking a supplement when you're sleeping horribly or wildly overstressed will only put a bandaid on the problem. Sure it can help incrementally and supplements absolutely have a place in everyone's health journey, but addressing the FOUNDATIONS OF HEALTH can often make the biggest impact (and can be the most affordable too) Here are the five foundations of health: 1. Nutrient-dense diet 2. Sleep 3. Stress 4. Digestion 5. Blood sugar regulation If you had to pick just one of these to start, which would you choose?

Remember that your health is bio individual. Now, you may in fact have parasites... most people will come into contact with them at some point... but just like you wouldn't take an antibiotic from an uneducated doctor, you shouldn't go all in on a parasite cleanse that you can buy off of amazon 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ Your digestive system is one of the most important systems in your body, so doing a random parasite cleanse can absolutely wreck what's going on inside. You should only ever work to clear parasites after working with a practitioner to ensure that all of your drainage pathways are clear and there's evidence that you have negative parasites in your system (surprise, not all parasites are horrible for you) #holisticlife #wellnesstips #healthyhabbits

There are SO many days where eating a pizza and staying in bed feel like the only thing I want to do (and to be honest, I have these days, I love them, they are cherished 😍). And while life should be about balance consider this... If everyday you chose the easier route of being a couch potato and eating only foods that give you that intense dopamine hit (looking at you giant bag of Doritos that I could gobble up in an afternoon) your body will become unable to support you and you will get sick. Then think about how much more difficult it will be to make those healthier choices. The mental load it takes to make those choices to go workout, cook a meal at home.. sometimes even just go for a walk, when you know it's SO much easier just to click a few buttons on your phone and that tasty meal delivered to your door, is intense and can feel overwhelming but... ✨ Consider your choices are like making deposits to a bank account ✨ Little by little those small choices start to add up. And those little additions compound and bring you even more bang for your buck 😉 ✨ Because in this little corner of social media, we aren't sharing a 180 flip in your day to day lifestyle to get healthy but rather a reasonable way to bring your health into balance. Hope you stick around ❤️

Just a few items that somehow end up in the grocery cart no matter what these days 🤩 My cart is always changing >> and so should yours! >> depending on what I'm in the mood for, what's in season... what's in the budget 🫠 (gotta love 2024 pricing, every week it's an adventure of "how much will the groceries cost?") I think the biggest shift for me was learning to enjoy (grass fed) butter again. Its so incredibly good for you - don't fear the butter like I did!! Are any of these on your staples list? #holisticfitness #holisticgirlie #grocerybag

This year we're going from OVERWORKING, to working SMARTER 🤩 This ONE mindset shift literally changed the way I view and experience working out. I spent YEARS begrudgingly going to the gym, taking a class or working out with a YouTube video and I almost always counted down the seconds until I was finished with it. But once I started telling myself "remember how good you feel afterward" and "think about how well you'll sleep tonight", the entire workout 'game' changed for me. I bet if you switch up how you internalize working out from an 'in the moment' experience to an after effect focus you'll feel it too. 💪🏼

This is your sign to have a "staycation" You don't need to book an expensive or time exhausting trip to enjoy time away from work or your significant other. For us, this has been an incredibly busy season of life. The priority for fun and time spent together has been low on the list, so we chose to take time away from work to be with each other and enjoy San Diego. Our little staycation didn't even involve a hotel. Let this be a reminder that a little time to slow down and prioritize fun is just as important to your health as are all the supplements, workouts and biohacking tools. Plus it's more affordable 😉 #healthoverwealth #livinginsandiego #staycationsandiego #staycations #simplehealthtips

Add this to the list of things women deal with... ...we store a lot of our trauma and emotions in our hips. While stretching isn't the "end all, be all" solution for this, it helps to start to release some of that internal stress your body so generously holds on to 🙃 Plus stretching is SO good for your overall health and longevity of your body. Here's to elongating those little leggies ladies! ***PLEASE NOTE: it's best to do a full body stretch rather than focus on one set of muscles or joints. Many of our muscles are interconnected so stretching your hamstrings will help stretch your hips, and so on [I am not a medical practitioner, so do not take this as medical advice. Please consult a physician] #stretches #hipstretches #longevity

I figure if I spend so much time scrolling on these apps, I may as well create something 🙃 I've been thinking a lot about the progression of life and finding a happy balance between happy and healthy. If you're like me, you're used to going all in, overcommitting to health goals and then spiraling out of control (whether that be binging after weeks of restriction or your body breaking down because you're over doing it). But the past two years I've learned a lot about balance, boundaries & dedicating myself to discovering ways to optimize health without sacrificing other things. And the universe has continual showed me that it's time to share what I'm learning with others ❤️

The last few days were spent mourning the loss and celebrating the Life & legacy of our dear uncle, Tony Febbo. Tony was a man who brought so much life, love and energy everywhere he went. We always knew if Tony was coming it'd be a day of laughter & goofiness, good conversation and meaningful moments. I'll never forget the Sundays spent playing and being tossed in the air. The adventurous playtimes in the mud, with fire pits and the wooden spoon game. You filled our childhoods with games and fun. I'll never forget the feeling of acceptance, of being a little bit different than others in our family; a little bit more wild, a little bit more goofy. And knowing that if you could do it, so could I. I'll never forget the love you have for your children, our pseudo siblings (@rebfebs @sfebbs @melissafebbo16 @obbef_ ), who embody so much of your spirit it makes my heart smile to witness. I'll never forget the true love of you and Nini. The two of holding hands any chance you could. Your adoration for one another was something to aspire to have. It warmed everyone's hearts. And I'll never forget how you made us all feel. I'm not sure words could describe or cover it fully, so I'll leave it here knowing in my soul what it was like and bringing that energy with me everywhere. And lastly, I'll never tire of hearing your kids and wife reminisce on stories you all shared. Tony really was one to make you laugh, and I'm confident the laughter he brought in the moment will be shared and laughed about for decades. No time is ever enough with your loved ones but while you were with us you really lived and loved fully. Love you always ❤️

What a quick day trip to Vegas looks like for a part time performer 🙃 The best thing I've learned to do for myself during these long days is prioritize my health & well being... which meant a 4:30am wake up for - a quick weight lifting session - popping natural supplements to support my immunity - cat cuddles, of course - packing lots of healthy food (bc the Vegas casinos aren't known for having good-for-you food) Best part was spending the day with some of my favorite ladies ❤️❤️

Quick weekend in Colorado Springs... was here for a wedding and have almost no wedding footage 👍🏼🙃

Olympic Peninsula Road Trip Guide – Blue Eyed Compass

Like most of the Pacific Northwest area, the Olympic Peninsula has fairly temperate and pleasant weather year round. La Push has a series of three beautiful beaches to explore Second Beach –A sandy beach a few miles from the town of La Push. *Recommendation- enjoy dinner at First Beach and then camp at Second Beach Rialto beach is the third of the La Push beaches. If you’re planning on staying in the Neah Bay/Clallam Bay area for more than one day, then I suggest setting aside time to get to and enjoy the Shi Shi Beach Trail.

Top 14 Picnic Spots in San Diego, California – Blue Eyed Compass

Here are three stellar areas you can set up for a nice meal: –The Bahia Hotel beach on Gleason Road: this area features both a sandy beach and grassy area and has views looking towards the Paradise Point Resort, and has a public restroom. There isn’t any shade here, so if you’re sunburn prone like me be sure to bring your own umbrella (Fun fact- n’t picnic at the resort, there is plenty of space surrounding it that is perfect for a San Diego picnic. From this area you’ll have views of the bay and fiesta island (which on the weekends features lots of jet skiers, aka fun people watching!)
