𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘦: 𝘛𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 🐯👑⁣ ⁣ Happy Halloween, everyone! We won't be taking part this year because we're still in the middle of a pandemic. But you know I don't pass up any opportunity to dress up, especially when I can pull something together from my closet.⁣ ⁣ Initially, I thrifted this @hm sweater from @kbousq's closet because I wanted to join the animal print party and tigers have always been my favorite big cats. It wasn't until this super cozy piece arrived at my house that I realized it would make the perfect quarantine pop culture Halloween costume! 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘷𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳? 🇺🇸⁣ ⁣ This morning, I'm sending 200 postcards to my home state of Georgia, encouraging registered voters to get out and vote on Election Day. I'm proud to be one of 𝟑𝟕𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 helping @postcards2WI send out 𝟏𝟓.𝟕 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 to voters in 𝟏𝟒 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 this election cycle. The message—which I know by heart now—promotes unity and joining together to support issues close to many Americans' hearts like affordable healthcare and a cleaner environment for everyone.⁣ ⁣ Sending out those postcards today made me wonder: What is it 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 voting for on November 3? Is it a specific issue? Something about a candidate that you admire? An ingrained desire to fulfill your civic duty? 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭!⁣ ⁣ The United Nations created this day in 2012 to recognize the rights of girls and the unique challenges they face around the world. These challenges include everything from gender-based violence and lack of educational opportunities to child marriage and laws and stereotypes that undermine gender equality.⁣ ⁣ In celebration of the #DayoftheGirl, I thought I would share a few facts about the girl in this photo: 9-year-old me.⁣ ⁣ 📝 She wanted to be an author and wrote novel-length stories in the style of her favorite Dear America series every day after school.⁣ ⁣ 🌟 She also wanted to be an actress. (The red hair was courtesy of a community theater stint as little orphan Annie!)⁣ ⁣ ❤️ She was so self-conscious of the broken blood vessel on her nose but hadn't yet started to count calories or nitpick all of her body's "flaws."⁣ ⁣ 🇺🇸 She loved every bit of school but especially social studies and learning about American history.⁣ ⁣ 🐈 She was already very much a cat person.⁣ ⁣ Girls around the world are advocating for change in the areas of climate change, children's rights, and more. I'm going to vote on November 3rd with the hope that the 42% of eligible voters who sat out the 2016 election will join us this year.⁣ ⁣ I truly believe this will be a turning point for our nation, so if you're on the fence or this is your first time voting (congrats!), here's a quick and easy 1-2-3 for making your voice heard:⁣ ⁣ 1. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞. Each state has its own process and deadlines, and the earliest voter registration deadlines are next week! 𝘈 𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 💅🏻⁣ ⁣ I was incredibly excited for the #TargetStyle VoxBox from @Influenster because 1. the clean ingredients in the @Native toothpaste go perfectly with my new bamboo toothbrush, and 2. this adorable @VeraBradley razor and shave cream combo from @gillettevenus was just the push I needed to actually start shaving my legs again. #QuarantineProblems⁣ ⁣ Here’s an honest review of each product I received:⁣ 🧴 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 + 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - I was really impressed by this shave cream’s latherability (assuming that’s even a word 🤷🏻‍♀️). Other shave creams I’ve used end up gunking up the razor blades; this stuff lathers like a champ, moisturizing your skin while helping the razor glide. Also it smells heavenly (a light, sweet floral that isn’t cloying), and it’s made 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 Shea butter and 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 dyes, parabens, sulfates, and all that nasty stuff found all too often in bath products. ⁣ ⁣ 🪒 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 + 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐆𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐫 - This baby has five blades for a super close shave. Do I really need to say more? Okay, I will. I love that the razor is surrounded by a shave bar to help moisturize your skin even more. The handle is not only beautiful but ergonomically grippable.⁣ ⁣ 💋 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 - I’m a big fan of the Native brand, so getting to test this toothpaste was a no-brainer.
