Todd and Julie recently spent 17 months traveling North America. They visited 36 states, 5 Canadian provinces, and many state and National Parks. Fulfilling their wanderlust has always been a huge part of their lives. They've lived in Slovakia, Alaska and too many states to count. When they're not traveling, they're at home in Austin, TX writing about travel, editing videos and planning their next trip. They have three kids ages 21, 19 and 14 who have all been bitten by the travel bug as well.

Big Island Stargazing: Everything You Should Know

FOURTEEN are right here in our backyard, with twelve on the summit of Mauna Kea (elevation 13,796 ft) and two on Mauna Loa (elevation 13,678 ft). Teams of astronomers from countries around the globe come to Mauna Kea to man their country’s high-end telescopes which have been placed at this location. I speak from experience, because our tour with James at EpicTours took place around 8,500 ft elevation on the western slope of Mauna Kea…and it was simply incredible! The good news is that there are actually two visitor centers for the observatory: one located at the observatory’s headquarters in Waimea, and one located at the summit, close to the telescopes themselves.

RV Water Filtration: Explore All Your Options

The KDF portion of the filter helps prevent bacterial growth in the filter while the filter is not in use. With two-stage filter systems, the first filter is usually filled with a sediment catching material, trapping any of the larger pieces of sediment in the water and also preventing the second filter from clogging up. Reverse Osmosis systems for RVs usually contain several filters besides the Reverse Osmosis filter. These systems usually include a sediment filter, a carbon block filter of some kind, and the Reverse Osmosis filter.

Can You Live In a Truck Camper Full Time?

It’s safe to say a truck camper will offer you probably the simplest possible full-time RVing experience with the least moving parts and potential failure points. But in my case, when we hit the road in our travel trailer with a family of five for our full-time RV adventure, let’s just say it ended up being a bit more expensive than I had anticipated. I can’t talk about this topic without recommending a product that was released in 2018 which helps to keep your truck camper stable while it is off the truck and avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the camper supports/jacks and on the body of the camper as well. Having said that, the more likely issue you are going to run into with a truck camper is a rule that doesn’t allow you to remove the truck camper from the truck in the RV park.

Learning to BE in Your RV

How to BE in Your RV Listen, I speak from experience (1.5 years on the road) when I say that the transition to an RV is often no walk in the park. When you are on the road, constantly exploring new locations and meeting new people from different walks of life, you absolutely lose some control of your surroundings. One aspect of transitioning to RV life that I believe everyone faces is trying to establish a new life rhythm. You have to get creative, think outside the box, to find a new rhythm and a new normal in this new life that works for everyone (and even if it is just you).
