How Elvie Pumps Changed My Life + Review

The pump machine was just adding to it, not to mention I had to find the wall plug, get situated and make sure I had everything ready because I wouldn’t be getting up for the next 30-45 minutes. I didn’t want to be in a room alone so just pulled them out and started pumping (it was just my mom and grandma) but quickly regretted it as my grandpa and uncle walked in the living room. If I went with Willow, I’d be spending a fortune on the pumps ($499) and the bags themselves; so I took a gamble on Elvie Rather than booking the nursing room at work, I can go into any room and feel completely comfortable pumping and still work efficiently.

Adjusting to Motherhood

I feel like Michael doesn’t help out enough and he feels like I don’t let him help which I can totally see. The things I thought would be hard have become easy and the things I thought would be easy were hard. For those of you who don’t know, breastfeeding is a full time job and those of you mommies who do this longer than 6 months, I commend you! In the hospital I had a hard time producing milk and was hand expressed by a nurse every couple hours just to get less than an ounce to feed my daughter.

Mackenzie's Birth Story

Going into labor my worst fear was getting the epidural but surprisingly the worst part of my whole experience was getting my IV placed! After waiting what felt like forever the Doctor finally came in and broke my water. After hours of crying, my precious nurses convinced the Doctor that I was too swollen and in too much pain to go through with vaginal delivery and right away they suited Michael up and we were headed to the OR for an emergency c-section. Turns out her head was stuck in my birth canal transversely (sideways) leaving her cone-headed (totally went away after a couple hours) and her cord was wrapped around her neck.

11 Days of Halloween

Something we look forward to every year… Even though we are 11 days away from Halloween, that didn’t stop the Estrada’s from following tradition. We packed the jeep last minute with friends and headed to the best pumpkin patch in town to find a contender to carve. That was just one thing we could not skip out on this year especially since Dozer and Charlotte’s favorite part of Halloween is eating the left over pumpkin pieces and insides. I think it took about 30 minutes to get a parking but despite all the people, we managed to still get a slice of pumpkin pie and a pumpkin to carve.
