Things to do in Wroxham, Norfolk Broads

The small town of Wroxham in Norfolk styles itself as the gateway to the Norfolk Broads. If you chose this area as a base to explore one of the UK’s most overlooked National Parks, then you’ll find a lot to do both in the town and in the surrounding area. I have divided the post into things to do in the town of Wroxham, things to do in the area and other towns worth visiting nearby. It stands between the Norfolk Broads and the coast in an area known for its wildlife.

Pensthorpe Park, Norfolk

Pensthorpe Natural Park in Norfolk is 700 acres of wetland habitat, conservation projects, gardens and playgrounds. There is still plenty to keep the kids entertained in this deceptively large space including an area for small children which my 2-year-old refused to use. Once you pass the entrance shop at Pensthorpe Park, you will find yourself in an indoor seating observation area which looks out across the Mill Pond. Pensthorpe Park also has an extensive shop and an excellent sized cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.

Horsey Beach Seals in Norfolk

The Friends of Horsey Seals work hard to protect the seals of Horsey Beach. The busiest time to visit Horsey Gap is late December and early January when there are lots of pups on the beach and in the Junes. The seals arrive on the beach at Horsey Gap in November, so it is possible to see pups much earlier. Horsey Gap is a sandy beach on the East Norfolk coast.
