I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2014 at the age of 15 and shortly after I made it my life's goal to pursue the BEST gluten free products and restaurants in California. I currently live in Los Angeles where I am searching for new GF food and developing recipes. I don't like to sugarcoat anything about being gluten free – I always give my followers the real deal!

📍COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — I’ve been exploring the gluten free scenes of Colorado a bit more lately and I stumbled upon Bingo Burger, a cool burger joint with tons of gluten free options. They have a GF burger bun and all GF sides and dipping sauces. I got the boilermaker burger with a GF bun, bacon, Chile jack and an egg. It was so good! We got the Brussels sprouts, fries, parm and herb tots, and aunt pickles’ hot tots to share. It was all so delicious! Highly recommend!🍔🍟

📍LOS ANGELES, CA — I recently discovered this little gem of a pizza spot in DTLA and let me tell you it’s so amazing to have a go-to pizza place that serves GF pizza on a homemade crust that’s NOT extremely fancy or insanely overpriced. It’s my casual, simple and delicious neighborhood spot🙂 And they have dessert pizza, wings and DIY pizza kits all gluten free. The pizza in the photo is their pizza alla vodka with smoked mozzarella. I love @pizzasocialela 🍕

📍LOS ANGELES, CA — @modernbreadandbagel is in California people!!! This location is in Woodland Hills in the cutest outdoor mall. It was pretty far from me but 10000% worth it! Everything was just like I remembered from visiting in NYC - delicious and fresh! I got a BEC and a plain with their strawberry cream cheese along with some bakery items like the cinnamon roll and the strawberry donut. Everything was so incredible and I cannot WAIT to go back and try more!!! This location in CA is the best gluten free news of 2022!! Where do you get your favorite GF bagels??? 🍩🥯🍳

📍 LOS ANGELES, CA — recently checked of a GF LA bucket list item which was visiting @fonuts ! I won’t lie, I was skeptical because I love fried, fluffy donuts but I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying these were. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fonuts are completely gluten free with quite a few vegan options. They are always baked and I think they are made with almond flour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got the strawberry and the churro and both were great! A tad crumbly, yes, but I’ll let it slide. Fonuts is a solid sweets spot on my list!

📍LOS ANGELES, CA — one of my favorite spots in dtla @eatbrokenmouth !!! Broken Mouth’s “Korean homestyle food of Hawaii” is so delicious and almost all gluten free!! - the only gluten-containing items are the ones with bread. This is the chicken plate lunch with GF Mac salad and purple rice with a fried egg. It’s mochiko-style fried chicken which is completely GF! Mochiko is a sweet rice flour. Broken Mouth has changed their menu a bit since I’ve been, but I’m excited to try some their new items like the Teri chicken! 🧡

📍PASADENA, CA — The Luggage Room and La Grande Orange is a popular spot in Pasadena for “California classics” and TONS of GF options! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While they aren’t a gluten free facility, more than 75% of the menu can be made GF and they note on their menu they take as many steps as possible to avoid CC. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think they are owned by LGO Hospitality which also runs the Misfit in Santa Monica, which has amazing GF food! The menu options are endless- they have “the misfit” crispy chicken sandwich, GF Mac and cheese, burgers, tacos and more 🌮 I was feeling pizza - I got the Shattuck Ave and I was not disappointed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 10/10 recommend @lgopasadena

Back to scheduled programming! 📍LOS ANGELES, CA— I visited Rossoblu a while back - In march - and I’ve been sitting on this gem of a post for so long! Rossoblu is an Italian restaurant in downtown LA (kind of by santee alley). The restaurant experience was so well-rounded—the space is beautiful with indoor/outdoor seating, the service was great and the family-style food was outstanding. They gave me a GF menu (for Celiacs!) and were super knowledgeable and careful about my food. We got the market salad, the grilled house sausage with heirloom beans, and the hanger steak with cauliflower mash. I was feeling benevolent and let my boyfriend and grandparents get their house made pasta which was not gluten free but beautiful to look at! I am really maturing these days….😁 anyway - beautiful experience at Rossoblu. I peeked at their current menu and I can’t wait to go back soon!!

GLUTEN FREE IN EUROPE: SPAIN ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍 Barcelona, Spain - One of my very favorite meals we ate in Spain was a little charcuterie/grazing spread at our apartment in Eixample. It was fairly easy to identify labeled GF products, but for GF by ingredient it was a little harder…and I can read Spanish. At every grocery store we went to, we at least found a few solid GF products. In addition to grocery stores and small shops, Barcelona has a few super cool markets to get fresh produce, meat, seafood and cheeses. For this spread, we had: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - fresh salad with cucumber, tomato and onion - some cheeses but the Manchego was the star-delicious! - Schar GF mini toasts for pan de tomate (fresh smashed tomatoes on bread) - GF ham and cheese croquettes - olives and some fresh fruit. - Not pictured is the divine jamon iberico, a cured ham in which Spain is known for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreespain #glutenfreebarcelona #charcuterie

GF IN EUROPE: SPAIN ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📍Barcelona, Spain - I’m not ashamed by how many times I ate McDonald’s during my week in Barcelona. Mickey D’s in the US simply isn’t cutting it. The Spanish menu has CELIAC SAFE items (labeled when you choose the item) including fries and GF buns! You can make the classics like cheeseburgers and Big Macs GF with the bun but the fries were a game-changer. Cheese fries with bacon, wedge fries, McShaker fries, you name it. And every single one was absolutely delicious. But wait, there’s more - GF McDonald’s breakfast. Mic drop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreespain #glutenfreebarcelona #mcdonalds

GLUTEN FREE IN EUROPE: SPAIN 📍Barcelona, Spain Our last stop was the the Eixample neighborhood of Spain. Spanish food was a little trickier to eat GF. Not as many of the menus were marked but our servers usually knew what we were talking about when we asked about gluten free options. In Spain, nearly the opposite of Ireland, had more dedicated GF restaurants and less options across normal restaurants. In some ways that can be a good thing! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jansana was very special - their desserts were absolutely beautiful and insanely good. We got Madelines, a cream puff, a lemon cake, a chocolate cake, a tiramisu and filled pretzels. And the woman helping us recommended other spots in the area - so sweet! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even though Barcelona was fairly cheap I was shocked by how inexpensive it was considering how gorgeous the desserts were. Imagining how much it would cost in LA sends a shiver down my spine. 10/10 recommend Jansana!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreespain #glutenfreebarcelona #glutenfreebakery #bakery

GLUTEN FREE IN EUROPE:📍London, England ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TEA🫖 No trip to London is complete without some afternoon tea! While researching, I found so many different spots that offered fully GF versions of their afternoon tea and ended up choosing the Wolseley. My group of 6 ordered 6 afternoon teas and the server looked at us like we each had 3 heads! Apparently that’s way too much…whoopsies. My brother and I still ordered a GF tea each and demolished it in a way that was opposite of posh. We got GF scones, macarons, sandwiches and two varieties of little cakes. It was all amazing! And a great experience - the Wolseley was beautiful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ LOCAL 🇬🇧 To close out my London trip, my family ate at Ffiona’s, a small local restaurant in Kensington. Almost everything was GF— the menu was written nicely on a chalkboard behind us as Ffiona pointed out. I got the garlic butter steak and when I tell you I still dream about that garlic butter…. Wow! The drinks were great, the sides were deliciously simple and the authenticity and sincerity of the owner and her restaurant were reasons enough to go. If you’re in Kensington, you will not regret going here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Up next… Spain babes Xx ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreeengland #london #glutenfreelondon #tea #afternoontea #locallondon

📍LONDON —My GF Europe experience continues! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re in London and you don’t try Indian food, you are sorely missing out! We ate at 2 Indian restaurants while in the city: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dishoom: this is a chain around the city with tons of GF options and DELICIOUS food and drinks! The restaurant was beautiful and buzzing even at 9pm. They gave us a separate GF menu and we ordered the chicken tikka, gunpowder potatoes, chicken ruby, mutton pepper fry, masala prawns, chili butter-bhutta (corn on the cob) and chole chawal (chickpea curry). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also ordered the kohinoor fizz, a gooseberry and gin cocktail, to drink. There were a good amount of non-alcoholic drinks which seemed really good too! Overall I think this was one of my favorite meals of my trip. Dishoom please expand into the US- start with considering California? 🙏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kutir (in the Chelsea area) was the second Indian restaurant we went to. Definitely fancy and pricy but one of the best meals I have ever had! The restaurant is in a tiny little townhouse which makes for an intimate and beautiful experience. The drinks were strong - I ordered another good (and strong) gin cocktail, thee Charitra. For food, we got a separate GF menus and ordered the aloo tikki, chicken tikka, sea bass, venison and guinea fowl biryani. Our server was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and even gave us some GF naan! Everything was divine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreeengland #london #glutenfreelondon #chelsea #indianfood #dishoom

GLUTEN FREE IN EUROPE: ENGLAND 📍London, England I can confidently say the Brits are fairly knowledgeable of gluten free (or “cereals containing gluten”). I did some pretty extensive research on restaurants and i found some incredible gluten free accommodations at restaurants in our are. We stayed in the Kensington area of London but explored the city and also the city of Bath! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We arrived on a Sunday which was perfect for a gluten free Sunday Roast in Pimlico at the Queen’s Arms. They had quite a few options and were very knowledgeable about what could be made GF. My roast and GF sticky toffee pudding were both great! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreeengland #london #glutenfreelondon #sundayroast

GLUTEN FREE IN EUROPE: IRELAND 📍Dublin, Ireland Hello my gluten free friends, I am back from my 2-month hiatus as I know everyone was anxiously awaiting my return. I went to Europe for 3 weeks in June and I am excited to share with you how I navigated it with Celiac! Everywhere I ate in Ireland- Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway - had labeled menus with every allergen and usually at least a few gluten free ones. There were less dedicated gluten free restaurants and bakeries and simply more options across normal restaurants. Ireland’s cuisine is very unique—most of what I ate there was fish & chips (GF😀), chicken wings and cottage pie - similar to shepherd’s pie! And I couldn’t forget about the many GF cider options. Overall, I think Ireland is a pretty easy country to navigate with Celiac and all of the food I ate was delicious! 🇮🇪💚 #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #glutenfreedublin #ireland #glutenfreeireland

📍LOS ANGELES — I recently visited the dtla gem that is @paradisicecreamca ! They had a ton of labeled GF flavors 🤩 I got the banana sundae and chocolate which were both wonderful! I love having a local ice cream shop that caters to different allergies — they had a ton of vegan flavors too! 🚨 Sensitive Celiacs always be on guard in ice cream shops! Most will sanitize their scoops for you to avoid CC. 😌 #glutenfree #glutenfreelife #glutenfreeliving #glutenfreeblogger #celiac #glutenfreefood #glutenfreelifestyle #food #icecream #glutenfreelosangeles #glutenfreela #glutenfreedessert #glutenfreeicecream #vegan
