Come with me to go shopping @osheradofficial in Israel! #aliyah #OsherAd #ShoppinginIsrael #OlahChadasha

Don’t be fooled: These came out if a box. @iherb and @bettycrocker save the day for me on the regular. I love making homemade tahina cookie bars and aficookie but sometimes I like to lazy up and take the road easily traveled. Because that’s real life. Not every meal or dessert or Shabbat spread has to come from the toil of your two hands. Order in. Use a box. Open a tin. Fed is best. No matter what that means. #Momlife #workingmom #israel #jewishmom

Tirzah is sunshine personified. ☀️😍

Potato-kale cheesy gratin = heaven I religiously use a recipe I found on @lordbyronskitchen a few years ago. Luckily I have it memorized! I skip the thyme and increase the baking time to ensure the taters are soft and heavenly. Do you love a good gratin? ##kosher #cooking #beingjewish #food #ohmylicious #kosherfood #koshercooking #kashrut #gratin #cookbook #cleaneating #kale

I made an omelet. And I’m so excited. It’s not just any omelet. I used leftover sweet potatoes from Shabbat, olives from nachos last week, and hot sauce. 🌶️ Happy Monday!

What the world needs now is love, sweet love. #אהבה

Thanksgiving came a month late this year. Why? Although I can get a lot of things in Israel that I couldn’t 8 years ago, there are still many things I can’t get that I absolutely have to have for Thanksgiving to feel like the Thanksgiving of my childhood. Although I can’t get French-cut green beans here for green bean casserole, I was more concerned about the gluten-free fried onions (which I’ve become too lazy to make myself). For the Watergate (aka pistachio) salad, I couldn’t find crushed pineapples or mini marshmallows that weren’t … well … gross. So I reached out to my mom and had her ship me gluten-free fried onions, mini marshmallows, and crushed pineapple. I thought about making turkey to really round out the meal, but I there isn’t Cocowhip here or anything similar, so we went dairy and the protein is maple-glazed Thanksgiving-style tofu. Boom. Are you excited? I’m excited. The full menu for this Shabbat meal: 🍽 Maple-glazed Thanksgiving-style tofu 🧅 Green bean casserole 🥔 Mashed potatoes and homemade gravy 🍍Watergate (pistachio) salad 🥧 Pumpkin Pie Shabbat shalom!

Ner Chanukah: A Mitzvah Chaviva

Rambam says that the Chanukah lights are a mitzvah chaviva hi ad meod, or an exceedingly precious or cherished mitzvah (Hilchot Megillah v'Chanukah 4:12). By taking on the mitzvah of the Menorah precisely as HaShem commanded, Aharon embodied and delivered on the essence of what the Menorah symbolized Be of the disciples of Aharon, loving peace and pursuing peace, loving mankind and drawing them close to the Torah.” From Aharon and the Menorah to the miracle of Chanukah and the rededication of the Holy Temple, we have the Chanukiyah. Although the mitzvah of lighting the Chanukiyah could be performed through a spouse, partner, or shaliach, it's such a precious and cherished mitzvah that — like Aharon with the Menorah —
