Ever since I took off work in February, baby have been attached to the breast and we started baby food. However, baby won’t take a bottle for nothing so we are settling on a sippy cup at 6 months. When I first thought of motherhood, I thought of a family unit. I thought of doing parenthood together. But we all know that some things just don’t work out like that. Now that I’ve fully accepted the fact that I’ll be doing majority of the work, I also started thinking hard about my support system. There’s no way we can do parenthood alone. That’s the reason they say “it take a village.” Not just for the kids, but moms need a village too. We need support. We need love. We need community. Thankful for the people that have truly been active in Jaxson’s AND my life. There’s no way I could ever do it alone because the frustrated, exhaustion, and emotions that comes with it is sometimes overwhelming. I also need a to put myself first to recharge and rest so he can get my all. Moms, stop trying to do it alone. Accept the help. Ask for help. Take a night for yourself. Go hang with your friends. Indulge in a hobby. You matter too.

Mentorship is very important to me. As I transitioned into motherhood, I wanted to redefined my womanhood, work, and personal life. It was imperative in finding a mentor to help assist me on this new journey. Just a few weeks in & Meagan have pushed all of us to get serious about our dream life. Motherhood is the only hood that’s still beautiful through chaos. Jax is opening my eyes to so much. How I build relationship with people, who I can depend on, my career moves, saving and investing, etc. Even before him, I knew there was more I wanted out of life but he has pushed me to be serious.
