🌼 All flowers grow through dirt 🌼 . That's the motto for our Spring Sweat Session. A reminder to grow through what you go through, to survive the rain, but use it to grow, and that sometimes, you may have to adjust your environment in order to really bloom πŸ’¦πŸŒΈπŸ’¦ . If you give up and quit watering your plant, it gets weak, droopy, and eventually dies. If you over do it, it also won't survive. Too much of something good, isn't always better. #balancedlifestyle . When you water your plant occassionally, it perks up a bit, but the brown leaves and missing petals remain. It's not until you start watering your plant consistently that the brown leaves disappear, the flowers pop, and the petals hold on. It looks strong! #consistencyiskey . Likewise, our bodies thrive and feel their best when we stay consistent with regular exercise. Now, thats just part of the equation. If you really want to flourish, add in some water, sunshine, sleep, a balanced diet, laughter, less stress and 🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸 #habitstacking . I want you to bloom! STUDIO TIP: Don't be a Karen. N.E.A.T UP like Nancy. . Nonexercise activity thermogenesis (N.E.A.T.) is super underrated when it comes to our overall health. For example, let's talk about Karen and Nancy. . Karen busts her butt 4 times per week in a 1 hour boot camp class and then brags about how it was so hard core while sitting around in her flashy althlesiure wear for the rest of the day burning a whopping 2,400 calories a week. . Nancy casually workouts out for just 35 minutes 4 times per week, but she makes a point to get up and move more throughout the day, getting in a short walk here and there logging about 5,000 steps a day burning an even more impressive 3,000 calories a week. . This may not sound like a huge difference, but after every 6 weeks, Nancy would lose 1 pound more than Karen (assuming all other variables were equal). By the end of the year, Nancy would be able to lose 8.5 more pounds than Karen. . The moral of the story is, don't be a Karen. Your workouts are wonderful, but if you're busting your butt and not seeing results or you've hit a plateau, I suggest taking advantage of the rest of the hours in your day and looking for opportunities to move more and N.E.A.T. If you love a great back + biceps workout and maximizing your time, save this! . Here's the drill: 1. Do 10 reps of the 1st exercise and then swipe to the next exercise. 2. Continue with 10 reps of each exercise until you get to the end. 3. Repeat the entire circuit two more times, continuing with 10 reps for each set πŸ’ͺπŸ–€πŸ’ͺ . I know you girls are some busy ladies - working your back and biceps at the same time is a great way to maximize your time. . STUDIO TIP: If your weight is on the heavier side, you may only hit 8 reps of each exercises on your last set and if your weight is on the lighter side, you should shoot for at least 12 to 15 reps for each set. Yesterday was full of selfcare surprises. This one in particular may sound silly, but it ended up being a much needed break and a chance to relax. . Are you ready for it? I was able to get out of the house and run some errands by myself! Yep, that's it! Oddly surprising form of selfcare, isn't it? . I had no idea how much I needed this little break. It was so freeing! I ran in and out of places without having to get the kids in and out their carseats or stress about them crossing the street or running off in the parking lot. . The best part was going into stores and having real genuine conversations that were uninterrupted. Being able to connect with people while not also worrying that my kids could possibly get into something or feeling pressured to hurry up before someone melts down was so nice. Not having these minor things there distracting me from being present in the moment was absolutely delightful. . I came home after being out by myself for a few hours and felt happier, more relaxed, and the weight of the world felt oddly lighter. I had no idea how much I needed that break and time to myself. . I realized that, as moms, we carry so much extra weight on our shoulders when we have our kids with us. I generally enjoy it and don't find it to be a burden, but it can be hard to relax or fully enjoy yourself while being out doing ordinary things while parenting at the same time. It can make everyday tasks feel more stressful and draining at times. . This was a little reminder that selfcare is more than eating well and exercising. STUDIO TIP: Challenge yourself! . You'll never be able to do a push-up on your toes instead of your knees if you don't try. . You'll never be able to lift a heavier weight if you don't grab the heavier dumbell and try. . You can keep doing the same thing over and over, but if you want to get stronger and see new changes, you have to make the decision to challenge yourself! . It's okay if you start with 1 push-up, then drop to your knees. It's okay if you do just 1 rep with the heavier weight and then drop back drop down.
