Fresh ginger is one of my favorite ingredients in cocktails, adds such a bright spicy element. Especially when paired with bourbon it brings out all the rich caramel flavors. Today I’m using Legent Bourbon @legentbourbon ,it’s a Kentucky Straight Bourbon with the Beam classic family recipe and is aged in wine and sherry casks before being blended with more Kentucky Straight Bourbon. It is distilled by Fred Noe, seventh-generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam and artfully blended by Shinji Fukuyo, fifth-ever Chief Blender of Suntory. Mountain Women 2 oz bourbon @legentbourbon 0.75 oz lemon juice 0.25 oz simple syrup 0.25 oz strawberry brandy @venturaspirits Fresh ginger 1 oz ginger beer @regattacraftmixers Grate about 2 tbsp of fresh ginger and add it to the shaker. Next add everything else to the shaker and double strain over ice. It’s Mezcal Monday and this fizz is absolutely amazing. I will say I tried replacing the grapefruit shrub directly with grapefruit juice and a splash to vinegar and random concoctions but it never quite worked out. If you can I would pick up a small bottle of grapefruit shrub @innajam and give it a whirl. Have you ever tried making your own shrub? Lefty’s Fizz 1.5 oz mezcal @delmagueymezcal 0.5 oz dry curaçao 0.75 oz lime juice 0.75 oz grapefruit shrub @innajam 1 small egg white 2 oz sparkling water @perrierusa Add everything to a shaker except sparkling water and do a dry shake, then add ice and do another shake. Pour sparkling water into rocks glass and strain over it. Happy Monday! I had the opprtunitry to try out @drinkfreespirits non-alcoholic tequila, and I am super impressed! This is my first time trying out a non-alcoholic spirit and I was really curious how well it could hold up in a margarita. Rosemary Simple Syrup 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 3 rosemary sprigs Bring sugar and water to a simmer in a pot and add the rosemary sprigs. Take it off the heat and let it steep for 1 hr.
