weekly report ੈ✩‧₊˚ // making the best of time and enjoying the process of change 〰️This week I tried to be more present. I’m experiencing change and I’m doing my best to be *here* It’s funny how perspective shifts once you pull yourself out of something you experience all the time. I think this is also a reminder that if you’re going through change, allow time and grace to be on your side. Change is meant to be messy, unclear. Social media does a great job of making us think everything everyone does comes in a nice prepackaged gift. It doesn’t. Make a mess and keep trying anyway. 💌 this is what I’ve been up to this week // reading: ambitious women by starting from nix. I think I found one of my favorite writer’s on Substack. Title is self-explanatory. Give it a read if it looks relevant. eating: spend a day downtown and grab a pizza? count me in. playing: a friend recommended I watch A Time Called You on Netflix. This is such a sweet yet thrilling k drama. I love it so far. obsessing: my husky looks so much smaller when he’s in the bath, not the poofy cinnamon roll he usually looks recommending: I’m a big fan of strawberries and Olipop. I haven’t tried this flavor before and it tastes like a sweet treat but it isn’t overbearing like a soda would be. so good. treating: most of my week was actually spent in front of the computer typing articles, pitching decks, and hunching over the screen trying to deepen my SEO practice (remember to take breaks). 2 cups of coffee were a minimum daily requirement (but I plan on cutting back this week, hopefully) … and that was my week! see ya next week!! :-) #whatthisweek #weeklyreport #weeklycheckin #digitaldiary #photodump #momentsthatmakemyday #inspiremoments #inspiremoments #inmymind #loveyourthoughts #selfloveblogger 🌸 take what you need ⤵

weekly report entry no. 9 ⋆˚✿˖° a trip to kuya joe’s and horrifying delights reading: recently learned of the tragic story of marina keegan and was curious to read her work. I picked up her essay, “The Opposite of Loneliness” and didn’t put it down all weekend. It’s a well crafted read and there so much obvious talent in the way she captures such hard to describe emotions in young adulthood. eating: i thought this was the week i wasn’t going to share filipino food related topics, but a recent trip to Trader Joe’s swindled me out of it. I’m surprisingly impressed with this calamansi sorbet, it’s rare to find an americanized take on filipino dessert without it having an artificial taste to it. I give it an 8/10. playing: if you tell me there’s a movie with nicolas cage in it, i’m going to sit right down and watch it. i loved the eery wackiness and the concept of the film, but towards the end, i feel like the story started to run off. regardless, it was a good watch and i wish i saw it when it was in theaters. obsessing: okay, i might have given into the trader joe’s mini tote hype, but to be fair, i was grabbing (above) sorbet and it occurred by happenstance the tj i went to had the totes. so obviously, had to grab one of each color lol. i wish i had green tho :-( recommending: added the most valuable upgrade to my car at the moment 😌. now everyone is a princess, as she should feel! treating: the no-sweets-streak didn’t last long, but if you smelled the bakery walking past, you would understand too. and that was my week, see ya next week xx #weeklyreport #journalcommunity #weeklydump #photodump #lifestyleblogger

channeling my angel energy with @muglerofficial Angel and Angel Elixir 🌠 now available at @macys #MuglerAngel carries notes of bergamot, praline, and patchouli leaf while #MuglerAngelElixir expresses notes of a woody scent with pink pepper, ylang ylang, and bourban vanilla. Even with the lightest spritz, both scents bring attention when I enter the room. Both are indulgent scents that last all day. #GiftedByMugler #scentoftheday #perfumereels #fragranceaddict #perfumereels #fragrancelovers

Joshua Tree Instagram Spots and Salton's Hidden Ghost Town — Soyleaf Daily

Driving through the town, there’s a plethora of abandoned homes and graffiti warning millenials and Instagrammers to “stay away from Bombay Beach. I felt like I was in a scene from Children of the Corn where the couple gets lost and ends up stuck in a ghost town. (I linked the opening scene to the Children of the Corn link because I couldn’t find that specific scene. Before the Salton Sea became the barren and toxic wasteland we see today, Bombay Beach was a flourishing desert getaway booming in the 50’s and 60’s where the rich could swim, golf, and party on their yachts.

Desert Glamping at Purple Peaks in Twentynine Palms — Soyleaf Daily

Since March, I went through a lot of life changes, which I plan on going over in detail in a separate post. He surprised me to this Airbnb called Purple Peaks, which not to my knowledge was planned months in advance. It was difficult finding the place on the first night because I got there at night and had to drive through dirt desert roads with no streetlights. It’s in a semi-secluded space quite of a bit away from any neighbors fenced in with two separate glamp tents, buses, an outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen, and places to rest and chill.
