It’s a long and skinny country, and has miles and miles of coastline. With lots of tree-lined streets and tall, skinny, vietnamese buildings, it’s very charming although extremely hectic. Called the ‘Halong Bay on land’, it’s a beautiful part of the country with karsts and winding rivers. yes, it’s got a lot to see – the Hang Mua Cave viewpoint provides a gorgeous spot from which to view the paddy fields of the area.
Everyone knows about Machu Picchu but there is so much more to Peru as you’ll see in this rundown of the best photo spots in Peru. There were ancient cultures like the Paracas, known for their textiles, and the Nazca, known for the intriguing Nazca lines. The Nazca Lines are remarkable because human creativity has been preserved for thousands of years by the arid desert. Cusco is probably the most commonly visited city in Peru, since it’s a great base from which to visit Machu Picchu.
I’ve always found that when people get gear that’s too big and heavy, they’re just less likely to carry it and use it as often. I tend to carry about 3 lenses when I travel, but on any specific day trip, I would just choose 1 or 2 lenses to actually use. So size is important – because some days you’re just not going to want to carry that heavy camera after days of travel and an aching neck. You have to use manual focus on this one, but because it’s so wide, it’s not too hard to have most of the scene in focus anyway.

We arrived near Erdene Zuu in the early evening and spent the night at a nomad camp. Erdene Zuu monastery is interesting because of the history of buddhism in Mongolia. The temple event helped as I got some shots of locals in their unique traditional outfits but that was pure luck.
Mina is one of the semiwild orangutans of #bukitlawang and she's a bit scary because she's actually bit a lot of people. I was happy to stay far away and zoom in for this one.
