🇬🇧 (🇪🇸👇🏻) On our visit to the Algarve, very close to our apartment in the beautiful urbanization of Vila Senhora da Rocha, there is the stunning Albandeira beach, which has some really incredible rock formations and caves. There we rented a kayak, very early, and we were lucky enough to enter, almost alone, in a few sea “algares”. The algares, as can be seen in the photo, are not only beautiful caves into which the sea enters, often forming sandy beaches inside, but they also have "eyes", openings in the ceiling that let in the rays of Sun. La mayor parte de estos paseos, sin tener una dificultad técnica enorme, si que discurren por grandes desniveles de altura, en ocasiones no aptos para las personas con vértigo. A not very large building, but so beautiful, in which its octagonal shape stands out, where gray quartzites and red sandstones predominate. But whoever wants to know more about this mid-16th century construction in the Lodhi style can look for it on the internet or in books and I am going to focus on why it is one of our favorite places: The serenity that is breathed there. Belonging to the Humanyun’s tomb complex, protected by UNESCO, it is located in a harmonious set of gardens dotted with wonderful buildings, gardens that we could enjoy without any type of crowding. Among the ones we liked the most is the "Castle in front of the cave" (literal translation of Predjama) The castle, hanging halfway up an imposing limestone rock, shows at first glance how strategic its position was and, although today it can be accessed by a comfortable ramp, it continues to be an impregnable fortress. Discovering that the pool at our hotel was not heated but cooled the water, was one more brushstroke of that feeling. The human capacity to build is incredible, being the Burj Al Arab one of the jewels of this fascinating city. The almost magic that the engineers have deployed to raise more than 320 meters above a land and a beach reclaimed from the sea does not leave anyone indifferent. . . 🇪🇸 Nuestra llegada a Dubai, entre enormes autopistas, trenes pasando a altas velocidades por raíles elevados y enormes rascacielos brillando al sol del Golfo Pérsico fue como un viaje al futuro. Descubrir que la piscina de nuestro hotel estaba climatizada, pero no para calentar sino para enfriar el agua, fue una pinceladada más de esa sensación. The first time we visited it, we arrived through a coastal path from Vila Senhora da Rocha that runs along spectacular cliffs from which every little bit you discover a beautiful cove. The second day, at low tide, we saw the entrance of the cave in the photo that, when crossing it, you can hardly believe the fantastic seascape that opens before your eyes. Another couple of days we rent a kayak and paddle east and west, and what you find cannot be described, you have to experience it ... a lot of tiny beaches hidden in "algares" (caves that have an opening in their roof) they isolate you in your little paradise for a while. La primera vez que la visitamos llegamos a traves de un camino costero desde Vila Senhora da Rocha que discurre junto a espectaculares acantilados desde los cuales cada poco descubres alguna preciosa cala. El segundo día, con la marea baja, vimos la entrada de la cueva de la foto que, al cruzarla, casi no puedes creer el fantastico paisaje marino que se abre ante tus ojos.
