I’m taking inspiration from myself and our old house and having the same stair runner installed that we had at our last house and installing it in our current house! Because why not??? I loved it so much I was grieving over it when we moved 😆 No but really. I spent so much time trying to find a different option then realized that’s so silly….why not repeat something that I LOVE?! It’s like wearing our favorite outfit on repeat! Plus it hides dog hair SO WELL🙌🏻 This weekend I’ll be painting the stairs. Come back next week so I can show you how it turns out! . Being able to call this house our home here in Ohio since we moved back is one of those big life decisions that I don’t regret making! 🫶🏻🏡 I still pinch myself that we scored this home and have slowly been giving it updates and decorating since we moved in last year! The truth is, I can’t always afford original artwork. BUT, I can appreciate when I find an original piece thrifting and marvel at the talent that went into the piece. When you find artwork thrifting, you have no idea the reason behind why it was donated…so many different situations happen in life. All you can do is treasure the piece you’ve found and appreciate it! But I do love to wonder about the journey of original artwork!! . There’s also always a time and place for mass produced art as well. But for me, it’s the thrill of the hunt to find unique, handmade art that resonates with me that I can decorate with!There’s truly original artwork out there for every style that is attainable! Do you love symmetry like I do?! You don’t have to have the same exact items to create balance! I finally have decorated my mantle with equal amounts of symmetry using ginger jars, mixing candlesticks of varying heights, and flanking the hearth with 2 brass vases (or umbrella stands) that don’t match, but at the same time they do match by being brass! . I have searched for a couple years now for 2 matching black ginger jars that had the right colors I needed and the wait was worth it! I finally found two recently on @ebay WITH. THE. LIDS!!! IYKYK! . Okay so tell me, does your brain like symmetry like I do orrrrr is it just me? I do love how asymmetrical designs can be really unique and creative, but I really felt like this wall with our fireplace needed to be even! Let me know in the comments! Peep the song I chose ⚖️

When you walk into a home and immediately know what kind of person you’re visiting 🫶🏻 . That’s the home I’m slowly creating. Our homes are filled with layers and objects that help define us. I feel that my home definitely shows who I am as a person and I love learning about others through their spaces too! . What does your home say about you? Mine would tell you I’m traditional and eclectic using vintage, colors, patterns, and a collection of trinkets. I love using family pieces and photos to show who I am, where I came from, and memories too. A lot of my furniture and or decor make me feel nostalgic and right at home since they were once in one of my grandma’s homes.🩷

A controversial opinion of mine!👇🏻 . There is no right or wrong opinion here, but for me personally, I love closed-concept living! When we moved back to Ohio, our realtor kept sending us open-concept houses as options for us. I had to tell her that while I appreciated the options, a closed-concept was top on our priority list. She was shocked a millennial couple did not want the “norm”! . While there’s a lot of perks with an open-floor plan, like having a straight line of sight, feeling spacious, etc., I knew it wouldn’t work great for us personally. I get overstimulated easily so when it comes to sounds and lighting, I love being able to have separated rooms for that reason, and I’m not the most organized person, so I could see having multifunctional areas fill with clutter in our home. Maybe I’m a little old-fashioned but I like having separated spaces with things in the room that relate to them. I also love being able to make each room their own space without trying to coordinate decor with open areas. PLUS, I love hanging art…so I need more walls for that!! . The way we live is all so very personal and has to work for us! So, what do you prefer? Open? Closed? A little of both? I’d love to hear in the comments!👇🏻

I almost forgot about the moss covered bunny in our attic until the day before Easter! 😆 🐰we got it out just in time for family dinner yesterday! Better late than never, right?! . This is the only festive decoration I bring out for this holiday, and I really like how the bunny looks in our kitchen area! I mean…the gold bow 🤩🎀 Hope you all had a great weekend!!
