So, we’re halfway through January. I know I haven’t shown off all of my looks with my focus palettes, but I honestly haven’t loved them all. They look fine. Technically speaking. You know. The only good thing about yesterday is that Democrats will take control of the Senate. Congratulations to Senate Elect @raphaelwarnock and Senate Elect @jonossoff on their historic wins in Georgia. It’s all thanks to the hard work of black-led voting groups organizing voter registration in Georgia. 🍑 Let’s get to work restoring America. Yesterday’s attack at the Capitol was just another example of the structured racism that people like LaTosha Brown speak of when they complain about voter suppression. The staggering difference in the level of security and force used when protesters are people of color versus when they’re white just shows how deeply ingrained racism is in our society. I have been taking the Beauty Boost vitamins from @vitalproteins since they were sent to me for review, and they came at the perfect time. Since I’m not leaving the house as much, it seemed like a great time to take a break from heat styling so much and just give my hair a bit of a break. My hair seems SO shiny! Welcome to 2021, everyone! I don’t really do resolutions, but I do set goals—short-term and long-term. One of my long-term goals has been to shop more consciously. I’m trying to only purchase vegan products. I’ve been following a vegan diet and buying cruelty-free products for years now. That didn’t really seem like enough, so I started to make the transition, and it’s something I’m going to continue into 2021. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Like many people, I also started consuming less in 2020. I cancelled my subscription boxes because I realized how much CRAP I have that I don’t need. It was giving me anxiety, honestly. I have never really liked a lot of...stuff. That was an easy thing to cut out. Then came the low buy. This was harder. FOMO is real, y’all. So many good releases this year. Did I NEED them? Nah. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve decided to go even harder this year though. I have too much makeup. It is a perishable product...and I need to start using some of it up. SO. I have decided to focus on my @colourpopcosmetics monochromatic palettes for the next month. I won’t use them every single day, necessarily. I received the new @bareminerals Original Liquid Mineral Foundation with SPF 20 complimentary for testing purposes, and I have been loving it. I’ve been using it for over a week now, so this isn’t exactly a first impression. It looks like skin. I have combo-oily skin, but I love a dewy, more natural finish. This definitely delivers. There are no silicones, parabens, talc, or oil in the formula. It’s also clinically shown to help improve the look of bare skin in as little as four weeks with all of the skin-loving ingredients. Aside from the healthy mineral complex, there’s olive-derived squalane, peptide & prickly pear extract, and a mineral SPF. As someone who can’t wear chemical SPF, I am so psyched for that!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use one pump, dot it on my face, and blend it out with a brush. The coverage and finish are really natural. I find it evens out the skin, gives dewy coverage, and just kind of livens up my face because of the finish. I’ve seen some reviews that have said that it emphasizes skin texture, but I don’t really see that.
