This year I got married, finished a cookbook, got a second ear piercing but then it got infected and now it’s like it never existed, got another tattoo (cause I’m very good with money), learned that blood poisoning is no fun and that you shouldn’t get bitten by dogs, saw my cousin get married, met my 2 new favorite little guys (hi Lou and Simon), became an aunt, was diagnosed with ocd (should have seen that one a mile away), learned how to swim (kind of), got to experience Maui with two of my dearest friends, got Covid twice and was told I look like daisy edger jones about 1000 times. Happy new years!!!

Chewy Chewy Black & White Almond Cookies (for Hanukkah/or not) Makes 12 Ingredients: * 2 🥚whites * 3/4 cup sugar * 2 teaspoons vanilla extract * ½ teaspoon almond extract * 2 cups fine almond flour * ½ teaspoon salt * 1 cup melted bittersweet chocolate   * @beautifulbrinysea sprinkles 🎉 * Flaky sea salt Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. And line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the egg whites, sugar, and extracts. Whisk until foamy. Whisk in the almond flour and salt. Wet your hands and roll the dough into tablespoon sized balls. Use the bottom of a cup measurer to flatten each ball into a ½ inch disc and bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden. Once cool dip a half of the cookie in chocolate and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and sPrInKlEs.

I cannot believe it but I wrote a book (!!!) and it is coming out April 18, 2023!!! Dinner parties are central to my life and have helped me build lifelong friendships and meaningful community. This book is about how YOU can be a dinner party person regardless of your cooking skills. It has a flow chart to help you pick a meal based on your mood (i.e. laziness), many a themed menu, it tells you what you can make in advance, and also that you can order pizza and make a salad and that is also a dinner party!!! Boozy Gingersnap Cider - makes 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃 I was too lazy to plan a holiday party this year, but I did want to plan a fun drink to bring to other peoples holiday parties. Something that is easy to make in batches that I could serve with a cookie on the rim (cause why the hell not?)! So this is what I came up with, but I feel like maybe I have another one or two in me this year. Any suggestion for other cookies to inspire cocktails? 5 Granny Smith apples 4 pink lady apples 1 inch piece of fresh ginger 1 lemon, peeled 1 orange, peeled 3 cinnamon sticks 1 pinch of ground nutmeg 1 orange peel 1 lemon peel A few allspice berries A few cloves 1 cup bourbon Gingersnap cookie to garnish Juice the apples (with the skins on), ginger, lemon and orange. Put into a jar with the cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, lemon peel, allspice and cloves. Shake and refrigerate overnight. (No juicer? You can also use a blender and strain.) Make your favorite gingersnap dough (I used the @nytcooking gingerbread latte cookie recipe) and roll into gumball sized balls. Roll in turbinado sugar and flaky sea salt, and place on a baking sheet. Before baking, flatten the cookie into a 1/4 inch disk, using the bottom of a cup measurer. Use a butter knife to split the radius of each cookie so that once it’s baked it can sit on the edge of the glass (slide 3 shows this step). Just before serving stir together the cider and bourbon. Add simple syrup and lemon juice to taste. Pour into icy cold glasses with ice and serve with a gingersnap on the rim! Finish with cinnamon if you want.

IDK about your family but in mine our Jewish stomachs make it so that every other person has a different dietary restriction. This year I decided I was going to find ONE PIE delicious enough for all. I brought it to a friends house (see: car floor pie) for a taste test and they had no idea it was both gluten AND dairy free. I’ll take the win. Just in time for your Thanksgiving celebration, a GOOEY CARAMEL & GRANNY SMITH PIE to satisfy everyone. Crust 1 cup @cup4cup gluten free flour 1/8 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp salt 4 tbsp cold cubed @miyokoscreamery butter 1/4 cup ice water Caramel 1/2 cup sugar 3 tbsp @miyokoscreamery butter 1/4 cup @silk heavy cream Pinch of salt Filling 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into 1/8” slices 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon Pinch of nutmeg, ginger, and salt 1/4 cup sugar 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp vanilla 3 tbsp @cup4cup flour Topping 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon Pinch of salt 1 1/2 cup @cup4cup 1/4 cup chopped pecans 4 tbsp cold cubed @miyokoscreamery butter Pinch of @maldonsalt 🥧Crust - In a large bowl combine fry ingredients. Add the butter and crumble it between your fingers with the flour until the butter is no larger than a pea. Add water, mixing between pours, adding only as much as you need until it forms a shaggy dough. Lightly flour the counter and shape it into a rectangle. Fold it in thirds, shape it back into a rectangle and fold it in thirds again. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Dust the counter again and roll it out into a pie crust, put it in the pie dish and crimp the edges. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes. 🥧Caramel - In a saucepan cook the sugar over a medium low heat until it is liquid. Turn off the heat and add butter, whisk to combine, add the cream and salt. Whisk until it’s all incorporated and set aside. 🥧Preheat the oven to 350 F. 🥧Filling - In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients and add in half of the caramel, mix again. 🥧rest is in comments below🥧

Toss the corn with fresh peaches Mint, olive oil and za’atar A perfect fresh dish to take to the beaches To eat this salad, your friends will come from afar. So grab your ingredients And invite over your peeps They’ll all show obedience So don’t give any to creeps
