I Got Into A PhD Program!

I decided on a career as a public health professor and researcher during first year of my master’s program. I applied to 5 different PhD programs to start right after my masters, but was rejected from all. Since I graduated with my masters from UofA, I knew getting into the PhD program at the same university would be my best option. I know working and studying full-time will be tough, but I’m excited to start this journey towards my dream career.

Working in Academia

I currently work as an exams coordinator for the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Working at a university surrounded by faculty, staff, and students is exactly the exposure I needed to see whether it’s the right fit for me in the future. In the time I’ve worked in this environment, I’ve learned the following things: • I’m excited to see how far my career takes me in academia and all the different things I’ll learn along the way.
