Lately I’ve been getting a lot messages from y’all about how I’ve inspired you to go to concerts alone, and that makes me SO happy! I started going to concerts by myself after finding myself single again but not wanting to miss out on the live music that I love so much. I can see how it’s easy to feel intimidated when thinking about doing things by yourself, but to me, concerts are the perfect activity to do solo. Here are a few of my tips to ease your mind if you’re having any doubts about seeing a show by yourself: Get some snacks- depending on the venue or event, yummy goodies are usually available. One of my favorite things to do at an outdoor festival is lay down on my blanket with some fries and a cold beverage and people watch. Utilize ride share- Nervous about parking? Call a Lyft! When I travel to go to shows, I purposely look for Airbnbs that are close to the venue, sometimes within walking distance, so that I won’t have to worry about the parking situation. Make friends- If you’re at a concert, you already have one thing in common with the people around you- the love of the band you’re about to watch. I’ve met a lot of really fun people while either standing in line to get into a venue or hanging out in the crowd. Don’t be afraid to chat people up! Get lost in the music- I guarantee you that no one is going to be looking at you and wondering why you’re by yourself, especially during the show. Get lost in the music, take photos and videos, dance the night away, have the time of your life! My DMs are always open if you need advice or want to share your solo concert stories.
