Navratri has been a special time for my family because we were blessed with our daughter during this time of the year 💕 Learning Garba has been on my bucket list for a long time. Few months back I joined a class thinking I would finally learn Garba but it turned out a performance batch and I did something I had never planned - I performed at two biggest shows in Bay Area - Falguni Pathak Dandiya Night and Kirtidan Gadhvi with matki balancing, dandiya and with full swag! It was a wonderful experience! Loved every bit of it! But It was possible only because of @swapnilv29 and my parents who looked after everything when I was practicing 12+ hours every week! I am super grateful to them to make it happen! And special thanks to Ravi for being an awesome teacher! These sugar cookies are outstanding!. Packed with orange flavor, not too sweet, a bit of tanginess from fresh cranberries and divine aroma of orange zest. Here’s is what you need for making around 20 cookies For the dough: 1/2 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature) 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 whole eggs 1/2 tablespoon orange zest (fresh) 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp corn starch 1/8 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder In a large bowl, sift all dry ingredients – flour, salt, baking powder and corn starch. After 2-3 hours, take out the rolled dough, remove it from plastic wrap and cut equal size cookies using a sharp knife.
The dough is made with Bajra flour, fresh methi leaves, some common spices and yogurt. And another non-optional secret ingredient is sesame seeds, which provide the much-needed oil and calcium during winters. The hearty flavor of Bajra combined with the slight bitterness of Methi and the crunch and slight sweetness from sesame seeds, it’s a beautiful healthy combination, designed to perfection! All you need is 1 1/2 cups Bajra flour (millet flour) 1 cup chopped fresh Methi leaves 1-2 Green Chilis, fined chopped (optional if making for kids) 1 tsp Coriander powder 1 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp grated garlic 3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder 1/4 cup yogurt 2 tbsp grated jaggery (optional) 3 tbsp Sesame seeds (NOT optional) Salt to taste Oil for deep frying Method: 1.
