Hi, I'm Sarah and I have a blog called Mukikapup's Travels, where I write about travel (obviously), along with a bit of archaeology and lifestyle. Aside from my own blog, I have degrees in advertising, biblical studies and archaeology. I've lived abroad and also do photography and videography. I love learning and teaching myself new things, from video and web design to my degrees in other subjects. I would love to write about something for you, or help out in any way I can!

Happy Christmas is over? Me too ;) I did enjoy the day though, watching movies and talking to family. What’s your favorite thing about either Christmas or the fact that it’s over? #christmas #christmasisover #newyear #holidayseason

One of the best things I've ever done was interning with the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, where I photographed archaeological sites in Northern Israel for 5 months.⠀ ⠀ Using the site blueprints, I marked each wall/area, and photographed every inch. Then, I edited the photos and organized them in folders corresponding with the archaeological map.⠀ ⠀ This photo is a tomb in Bet Shear'im, a second temple period site where a famous rabbi named Yehuda HaNassi was buried. People from all over came to be buried in the same place as him, so there are a lot of tombs here, many of which are yet to be excavated.⠀ ⠀ Some tombs are similar to others, but there are a variety of unique styles. The site is famous for its inscriptions, including curses, and engravings of Menorahs and other symbols.⠀ ⠀ This photo shows the entrance at the opposite end. It was always a fun time getting into and out of these small openings, which had a large step down to follow, with my camera, a spotlight and other supplies in tow!⠀ ⠀ Want to read more about my experience? I wrote a blog post at the link in bio!⠀ ⠀ #betshearim #ancientisrael #ancienttombs #secondtempleperiod #archaeology #israelarchaeology #ancientcurses #history

Happy Chanukkah! How was yours? #hanukkah2020 #chanukah #menorah

Remembering this time I went to Red Canyon in Israel, which is a really amazing rock formation you can walk through. Above, it's equally cool to look down into the tunnel-like valley, where you must climb and use ladders and handholds to make your way through. It's a must-see in Israel, for sure!⠀ ⠀ I'm Sarah, aka Mukikapup's Travels, and I'm blogging about travel in the US and abroad, as well as a bit of archaeology. I'm currently staying in one place due to the pandemic but re-living past travels as I dream of future ones - and taking the occasional socially-distanced road trip!⠀ ⠀ Check it out at the link in bio!⠀ ⠀ #travelblogger #israeltourism #redcanyon #israeltravel #adventureawaits #traveldreaming #wanderlust

This is one of my favorite photos from Istanbul, in the spice market! I visited in 2019 and absolutely loved every minute of this trip... I explored some solo, some with my cousin so I can speak for both experiences.⠀ ⠀ What I bought here that I remember: rose spray and turkish delight, and ice cream, which if you go to Istanbul is something you must experience!⠀ ⠀ My main souvenirs from this trip were actually books, which I found at the best little bookstore area, that I'll tell about in a future post so stay tuned!⠀ ⠀ #travelistanbul #turkey #istanbultourism #istanbulspicemarket #exploring #solotravel #travelblog #adventuresinistanbul
