I’m Amy Traynor, a New Hampshire-based cocktail blogger, author, and photographer. My background is in art, photography, and marketing, but I've been a full-time content creator since 2018.

In 2020, I published two cocktail books: Essential 3-Ingredient Cocktails and The Essential Bar Book for Home Mixologists. The Essential Bar Book has been a consistent best-seller on Amazon, with over 1000 5 star ratings and over 30k copies sold.

In 2018, my blog was the winner of Saveur Magazine's Best Drinks Blog Award.

Any flat sparkling wine on the drier side will do. Here I’ve added some blackberries and fresh thyme for a beautifully nuanced, fruity cocktail syrup. 2 oz Empress Gin 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz blackberry champagne simple syrup* *To make the syrup, combine 1 cup each sugar and sparkling wine. Heat gently and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add 1 cup of blackberries, increase the heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Remove the mixture from the heat and add a sprig or two of fresh thyme. Toasted Marshmallow Simple Syrup My favorite way to sweeten scratch made hot cocoa! 🍫 Handful of toasted @kraftjetpuffed marshmallows 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Toast the marshmallows to your desired level of toastiness. Combine the water and sugar over medium heat and stir. Once the sugar has dissolved, bring the mixture to a simmer and add the marshmallows. Stir to melt them into the syrup. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Allow the liquid to cool before bottling. Strain with cheesecloth to remove burnt particles, if they bother you. It’s officially Bourbon season and I’ve partnered with @heavenhilldistillery to create this heavenly fall Old Fashioned! #ad Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond is a small batch, 7-year-old Bourbon that is great for sipping neat with aromas of vanilla and honey, and flavors of caramel, oak, and spice. I love its caramel and honey notes paired with the sweetness and acidity of my pear ginger shrub. It makes for a bold and flavorful Old Fashioned—the perfect way to warm up on these chilly fall evenings.
