I’m a big fan of taking spontaneous trips and will usually choose 2-3 things I want to do and have everything else go with the flow. We got an Airbnb right in the heart of Chinatown for easy access to delicious food and cheap parking. If you choose a restaurant with parking validation, you can get 3 hours of parking for $2. The Monet one was especially incredible and the Chicago Art Institute was the first American museum to purchase one of his paintings.
In the final year of the Flagship program, the Capstone year, students enroll in Nanjing University or Beijing Union University for language and direct enrollment courses. The Capstone year added a year onto my 4 year undergraduate studies, which I found undesirable (life is so short already, how could I delay the glorious future *gasp*). Chinese New Year came, and my friends and I visited the ancient city of Xi’an, biking the oldest and largest city wall in China. If I’d been able to live out my fancy internship in Shanghai, if I’d been able to travel all the places I wanted, consumed all the delicacies on my bucket list.
You will graduate college debt free, won’t need to take on extra jobs, and might even make money going to college. At this point, ASU, NAU, and UofA will host overnight events for the finalists on their respective college campuses in attempts to recruit scholars. UofA events my year, but it’s a good chance to meet the other finalists, current scholars, and learn a little more about each college. Due to COVID, test scores aren’t required this year and won’t be counted against you.
I’d seen friends make money from stocks, but I didn’t know where to start, and investing was another one of those items always on my to- do list neighbored by working out regularly, sleeping earlier, and eating more healthily. Robinhood is a great platform for beginners because it’s easy and quick to setup, doesn’t take commission on trades, and you can open an account with as little as $1. Some experts only buy stocks in their field since they’re knowledgeable on it, but I don’t consider myself an expert on anything except So you can buy $20 of TSLA which won’t be an entire share, but still a tiny piece of the company.
