Gotta love a free museum! This was our second time visiting @thebroadmuseum and luckily I was able to reserve tickets the night before for Yayoi Kusuma’s Infinity Mirrored Room. It’s a neat place to visit in downtown L.A.✨

Yesterday we visited @henrywcoesp and it felt like we had all 87,000+ acres to ourselves! We did, however, encounter some unexpected visitors on our drive back down.😅 Hope everyone is enjoying their first few days of 2024.

When we visited Kailua Beach during our honeymoon, I never could have imagined returning to the same exact spot almost 20 years later for family pics with our two teenagers.🥰

The last time @derek.cal and I went to Oahu was during our honeymoon. It was fun to experience it with the kids almost twenty years later. A lot has changed, but it still feels like paradise!🌺

Do you enjoy traveling with large groups? Last week we went to Oahu with my daughter’s high school basketball team for a tournament.🏀 Thankfully, the organizers did a great job planning all the details, restaurants and activities. To top it off, the girls won the championship!🏆 It was a Thanksgiving we’ll never forget.🦃🌴

@sainte_chapelle is one of those places we might have missed if we did not have the Paris Museum Pass. The stunning stained glass depicts stories of the Bible.⛪️

At 94 years old, designer @yayoikusama_ is an inspirational force to be reckoned with. Be sure to make reservations (free!) to see her collaboration with @louisvuitton at LV Dream in Paris. (And yes, I STILL have more to post about our Paris trip!😅)

Camping always makes a weekend feel a little longer, especially when it’s with your son’s Boy Scout troop.🏕️😅 @official_lake_cuyamaca

Unfortunately, @notredamedeparis is still undergoing reconstruction and is not expected to reopen to the public until December 2024. 🏗️👷‍♂️ However, we admired this grand cathedral from the outside and learned about the fire and rebuilding from the informative signs posted on the surrounding fences. Have you been inside? The perfect Notre Dame-themed dessert is at @alacroixpatissier right across the street.🍏 Also stopped in at @amorinogelato for our nut-allergic kids.😋

Visiting @chateauversailles took some extra effort (a long, crowded bus ride because the RER we needed was not operating), but it was worth it! The grandeur and opulence of the palace is simply unreal. As with almost all the places we visited in Paris, booking ahead online will save you time waiting in line. (Also, look into the Paris Museum Pass to save some money!)

“This might be an adventure, and I’ve never had one before – outside of books, at least.”-Hugo📚 In preparation for our visit to @museeorsay we watched the movie Hugo (and my son read the book). The story is set in the train station that eventually became this world-class museum. Do you watch movies or read books in anticipation of your travels?
