Camping always makes a weekend feel a little longer, especially when it’s with your son’s Boy Scout troop.🏕️😅 @official_lake_cuyamaca

Unfortunately, @notredamedeparis is still undergoing reconstruction and is not expected to reopen to the public until December 2024. 🏗️👷‍♂️ However, we admired this grand cathedral from the outside and learned about the fire and rebuilding from the informative signs posted on the surrounding fences. Have you been inside? The perfect Notre Dame-themed dessert is at @alacroixpatissier right across the street.🍏 Also stopped in at @amorinogelato for our nut-allergic kids.😋

Visiting @chateauversailles took some extra effort (a long, crowded bus ride because the RER we needed was not operating), but it was worth it! The grandeur and opulence of the palace is simply unreal. As with almost all the places we visited in Paris, booking ahead online will save you time waiting in line. (Also, look into the Paris Museum Pass to save some money!)

“This might be an adventure, and I’ve never had one before – outside of books, at least.”-Hugo📚 In preparation for our visit to @museeorsay we watched the movie Hugo (and my son read the book). The story is set in the train station that eventually became this world-class museum. Do you watch movies or read books in anticipation of your travels?

It was Louvre at first sight!🥰 We made a beeline to see the #monalisa (like seemingly everyone else), but there was SO much more to explore. Have you been to this magnificent museum?🖼️

Our Paris @airbnb felt like living in an IKEA catalog (which has always been a dream of mine😆). This apartment is steps away from the metro station, can sleep up to 12 guests, has three bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer, a/c and the cutest little greeters in the courtyard!🐕 Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a larger group stay in Paris (just be prepared to climb some stairs ⬆️).

Port #2 was Mazatlan. Although the US State Department has issued a Level 4 “Do not travel” warning for the area that includes this city, we felt safe.😅 The Blue Line painted on the road to lead cruisers from the port to the downtown area is such a great idea that needs to be replicated.💙Swipe to the end to see the friend that decided to join us on the beach.😂

After two days at sea, we were ready for our first port stop: Puerto Vallarta! 🇲🇽 We opted out of the pricey excursions and instead took the city bus (which ended up being an adventure in itself😅) to Los Muertos Beach. Strolling the Malecon, trying a street vendor mango and taking a dip in the water were some of the highlights. Have you been to this beautiful beach city?🌊☀️
