I have to tell y’all a secret 🔐 I don’t sing enough every day anymore. It’s the thing I was born with, the love of my life, and I iust don’t make space for it. So my goal, my new “thang” is to sing and share it with y’all, every day. ⬇️ Now I know I could get a mic out, and get the balance right, set up lighting, and do all the things. But often, perfection gets in the way of just doing the thang. So screw the makeup, the lighting, the sound, the perfect stuff, the likes, the followes. Listen y’all, my goal in life is to just sing. Sing the song that’s on my heart and on my mind that day, and move on. Share, and go. Every day. Hope y’all are okay with that ❤️ And if you want to add your part to it, go for it. Starting this goal with a country classic that will always be one of my favs “Crazy Arms,” by Ray Price. 🌵

I always wanted to be the Tex Avery cowgirl in the vintage cartoons 🌵 with her high-heeled tall white boots, big ol’ hat, and itty bitty fringe mini skirt that swayed when she danced! Anyone else absolutely mesmerized by her and her style? 🐎🧲 That’s a big reason why I got myself drawn riding high on a jackalope for my album artwork (last slide) 🌶️ because I wanted to make my dream come true of being a cartoon cowgirl!

I wish I could bottle up all the blissful joy, emotional impact, divine inspiration I felt last night seeing @madonna in my hometown! ✨ When I was a little girl her early music was the soundtrack to my Barbies, to sunny days at the pool, and popping the biggest pink bubbles I could. 💖 And then “Vogue” came out and my big blue eyes knew they were witnessing art, expression, and magic. It changed me forever. I saw how femininity, strength, power, energy, music, outward expression, could intertwine with couture fashion, dance, and an intentional message to in order to become art. 🫦🫀🐆 Madonna has a new york grime to her of the underbelly worlds of the city + a timeless hollywood glamour + an iconic image resplendent with “Our Lady of Lourdes” grace that for me will always demonstrate that imperfection = glory with a patina. None of us are perfect, but when we embrace our desire to “stick around” (as she puts it) we demonstrate that we understand how precious life is, imperfections and all. 🪽🕊️🦢 I cried 20,000 times watching this show and I’m so grateful that I finally got to see and sing along with and experience the woman who changed the course of my life when I was just a little bitty thing. And once again, after last night, I’m changed just a bit more ✨✨✨

TONIGHT is the finale night of our incredible @the.firebirds.burlesqueshow tour and I’m so excited to rock n’ roll one more time with this beautifully talented cast of musicians and performers! 🎵🥂 And I’m also sad-as-can-be knowing that tonight is our last night all together in what’s been a tour full of magic, music, and memories! 🥹 See you tonight, Schwedt @theater_schwedt !! 🥂
