Happy Easter friends. He is Risen! Had a wonderful day, celebrating our Risen Lord, finding joy in simple little moments of life and celebrating the signs of rebirth in Spring ❤️🌸 We opened baskets, hiked, went to church, hunted for eggs, planted things, played tennis, went fishing and had a great family supper. It was a perfect day. Hope yours also treated you well ❤️🙏🏻

We had a really great time in DC checking out the Cherry Blossoms and Fisherman’s Wharf. It was really a great day. I find that some of our best memories are doing the simplest things. Do you? Feeling especially grateful today for these three small humans who love me and extend so much grace, understanding and patience, especially when I am having a tough time 🌸. They bring me more joy and happiness than I could ever possibly deserve.

Pretty proud of this Jambalaya I made for dinner the other night. We all devoured this and I made it with, I’d say, 75% leftovers! I think the bone broth I used to rehydrate the rice helped with those bold deep flavors. And the andouille sausage of course 🤣. Scooped those bad boys out of the pan and sautéed some onions and bell pepper in the same pan with a bit more salt and creole spices. Then, I rehydrated the rice and chicken with @kettleandfire chicken bone broth for flavor. Dumped the rice into the pepper and onion pan and mixed. Added the andouille on top. Sautéed some shrimp real quick and put those on top! Seems like a lot reading it maybe, but it takes no time at all when you’re doing it and it’s a great way to use leftovers IMO… #kfpartner @clubkettle

We learned about conservancy and picked up trash at Dyke Marsh Wildlife refuge today for some community service and it just felt good. I didn’t grow up doing much regular community service when I was a kid… it wasn’t emphasized in our home 🤷🏻‍♀️. Makes me grateful for opportunities to serve the community that I can share with the kiddos; especially when their efforts make a tangible impact that they can see. Plus I guess I’m proud of these little rascals 🥰. #humblebrag

Outdoor laser tag. How am I just discovering this?! It’s like the best idea ever. You pick a spot, call up @gforcelasertaggaming ,they come with the equipment and the kiddos run around in the woods and get all exhausted 🙌🏻 I could be wrong, but I think they had a pretty good time 😎

When your super talented friend *finally* starts her baking business and you get to #tastetest for her 😍🍪🙌🏻 I mean check these OUT! They taste even better than they look. Word to the wise: The Biscoff Caramel is out of this world. You might never recover… Also. I think I need to get Wordy a treat 🐶🦴

That time Quint, my eldest, requested a birthday brunch in Clifton on his special day. I was.not.mad about it 😎 Peep that hand tied bag with magnolia leaves when you buy something from @virginiamercantile 😍

Sometimes I like to pretend that I am an inspired artist and have the teensiest bit of natural aptitude 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️ The beauty of these frozen woods was breathtaking. It was like walking into a Robert Frost Poem.

Today, he flew kites on the very same beach with his brother and sister. It’s a surreal, scary and beautiful thing I cannot adequately articulate here.
