this weekend we took baby boy to the park for the first time. we watched him swing, go down a slide, and play on a playground for the first time. this may sound a bit selfish but one of our nagging fears was that all of the adventure, weekends away, and fun experiences would come to a screeching halt after having a baby. but we eventually realized that was just a lie that we had chosen to believe because we’d heard it in so many ways, like a broken record playing the same old tune over and over again. so when we decided to try for a baby, we also made a promise to ourselves and each other that we wouldn’t forget what we love so much about “us”. one of those things is the way we embrace new experiences. and the way we somehow manage to balance the slow and steady moments (that we very much need and thrive in) with a healthy dose of adventure, spontaneity and fun (which we also crave from time to time). the truth is, it’s different. it’s sometimes a bit trickier. it definitely requires more planning and a WHOLE lot more stuff gets lugged along, but it’s not at all impractical or so hard that we don’t wholeheartedly look forward to the next little adventure or mini getaway with our little man. so, don’t be afraid to at least try. we have so much fun adventuring, in our own slower and more low key way, with our baby and as far as I’m concerned the adventures have just begun!✨ #newparents #firsttimeparents #babytravel #familyof3 #midwestblogger #chicagoblogger #midwesttravel

are you afraid to travel with your baby? it’s honestly probably the easiest it’s going to get so (if it’s fear that’s holding you back) take your babies with you now. you’ll build confidence and learn along the way and they’ll become more adaptable too. plus, babies don’t have school schedules or extra curriculars to work around, they’re almost free to bring along, and they’re generally just happy to be with you 🙌🏾. of course they slow you down and your travels will look different with them in tow, but don’t let fear be the thing that stops you. #babytravel #familytravel #familyof3 #newparents #newmom

album: birthday weekend 🌴🌊☀️✈️ We love how easy it was for the 3 of us to hop on an @allegiant non-stop flight from Chicago to Florida for a few days in the sun at the beautiful @sunseekerresorts . It was an incredible way to celebrate with my little fam. The foodie in me appreciated the endless food & drink options and watching Kenric splash around in a pool for the first time was honestly a core memory for both Ryan & I 🥹. I’m continually grateful for the experiences and memories we are creating together. snaps from the weekend… 🪩 ryan and I had a silent jam session date night - we missed the dates when we could turn up our music and just vibe with one another. so we started a shared jam session on Spotify, put our ear buds in, sipped wine & had a silent jam/dance party while ryan made burgers. I highly recommend trying it if you have little ones sleeping in close quarters and don’t want to disturb them. 💤 we continued sleep training baby boy and it’s going SO WELL. I was on the fence about it for months but now that I KNOW he is getting the best sleep and learning healthy sleep habits I feel really good about our decision to call @mybabysleepology . it’s a bonus that he’s happy as ever and now goes down with less tears than before we started. plus, ryan and I have our evenings back and we are ALL finally getting the sleep we need (even while room sharing). ❤️‍🔥 idk what’s better - successfully convincing Ryan to make me yummy burgers every week or getting to see him be a daddy because 😮‍💨 #marriedlife #husbandandwife #dateyourspouse #newparents #chicagoblogger
