The way you speak to yourself dictates the way you live your life. Positive self-talk helps to reframe the way we look at stressful situations and encourage living life to the fullest. Whenever I am in a bad mood or having a funky week, simply changing the way I speak to myself helps brighten my mood and changes my outlook on things. Checking in with yourself sporadically throughout the day helps you become more aware of your thoughts which will help you stop the negative ones in their tracks.

As we step into October, it’s glaringly clear that the pandemic has created a new normal that doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. And I have learned several important lessons since the pandemic began that have truly impacted my life. In the middle of an unpredictable pandemic that has swiftly turned life as we knew it upside down, finding any sense of stability helps ease quarantine anxiety. Love has seemed to be the key factor in surviving a pandemic that has forced the world to love and live in a whole new way.

I now try to go to bed every night at the same time I try to make it to bed around 9:30 pm. Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up the same time every day. As your body used to go to bed at a certain time, you will find yourself getting tired naturally because your body will recognize its time to wind down.

Typically when I start showing signs of burnout, I realize that I start to feel like I’m dragging along life, like a zombie. My distress seemed to be getting in the way of my work performance and social interactions Lastly, but certainly not least, an important symptom to look out for are issues in operating daily activities. Quality sleep recharges you, while poor quality of sleep leaves you feeling robbed in the morning. Quality sleep not only recharges you, but it also increases memory, all of which will be beneficial for your work performance and personal life.
