Did you know that I lived in Santa Monica, California for 10 years? It’s one of my favorite places in the world! I love the people. I love the food. I love the shopping. I know the bus drivers and police officers. I miss greeting business owners when I would pass by on my walks to the beach or just roaming around town. I also miss the beautiful sunsets that would paint the sky with the most amazing colors. I love people watching and Santa Monica has no shortage of interesting characters to choose from. While I usually avoided downtown (unless I was working, banking or shopping the farmers market) there was always something to entertain me. I’ll be back, even if just for a few visits, in 2022 and am excited and nervous to see how much it’s changed. Some of my favorite restaurants and shops have closed because of Covid but I know that some are also surviving and new ones have popped up. 👇🏼Have you been to Santa Monica? I only had 3/4 of a day in Tallinn and am now obsessed with all of Estonia. This view is from St. Olaf’s Church, the tallest church in Estonia. I use to collect baseball cards, I do still have them. 19. I have lived in 3 US states: Arizona, California and Washington. 20. I still cry every time I watch Top Gun. 21. The best concert I ever saw was Prince at the Forum in LA. 22. R.I.P. Betty White 💔😭 One of my favorite memories is having dinner with Betty White at the Daytime Emmy’s Governor’s Ball in 2007. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was coming up to ask her for pictures and she would graciously oblige each time. In between daytime stars, mostly soap opera actors, she went around the table getting to know a little about each of us. Would you take a 2 1/2 year break from Instagram? I did. I needed some time to take care of myself. When I first started seeing a doctor 3 years ago they took a lot of blood. And when they could not find anything wrong they just took more blood and more blood. At this point let me note that I was paying for health insurance in California. A few months later I was back home with family in Washington and on free state health care without a lot of hope. But the first appointment with my new doctor was such a refreshing surprise. I felt like he was actually listening, not just taking notes. I had told him exactly what I told my doctor in California. I told him about my excruciating back, neck and shoulder pain I had been experiencing since 2014. And do you know what happened at the end of that first appointment? My new doctor sent me in for X-rays! Wild! One thing he found was that I have degenerative disc disease and my spine looks like that of an 80 year old’s- so that’s fun. But it is not what is causing my pain. So he referred me to several specialists. I saw a spine doctor, rheumatologist, physical therapist and even got in to see one of the few state licensed pain doctors! We ruled A LOT of things out. At the pain doctor we discussed the probability of me having fibromyalgia but I wanted more tests. There are a couple other possibilities I shared with the doctor and he agreed to request an MRI. Just before I was scheduled for my MRI Covid hit hard. I don’t know if you remember but the first reported case of Covid-19 in the USA was in Everett, Washington- less than 10 miles from me. Anyway, the MRI never happened. By the time I went back to my primary care doctor I needed new referrals to get added to longer waiting lists than before. Also, one of the doctors I was referred to closed. Then my primary doctor left the practice this past October! I still need to call for a new doctor but I’m also working through a lot of anxiety which is a whole other story in itself. And that’s where I’m at. 🤷🏼‍♀️ How are you doing?

✨I like to eat! And I love finding yummy food all around the world. One of my favorite meals that I always look forward to is having breakfast in Morocco. ✨It’s pretty. It’s delicious. It’s pretty delicious! Every time I stay in a Riad I get spoiled with the most delightful morning spread. Taking the First Passage to the West with @rockymountaineer is an experience that will spoil all your senses. I was blown away with every aspect of the journey. 🏔My favorite was getting to see some of the most awe inspiring scenery anywhere in the world! And with my GoldLeaf seat I got to enjoy views out their bi-level glass-dome windows as well as their outdoor viewing platform. 😋They also have delicious food options for everyone. I was impressed with the selection and quality of food for every meal. I recommend anything with their breakfast sausage kielbasa! 🥂Perhaps the best part of the whole trip was the impeccable service. The entire crew was outstanding!
