I’ve been on a taco kick lately and another great place for tacos is @juanderful.tacos. If you haven’t heard of them by now, you must been living under a rock. They serve up some delicious tacos, burritos & quesadillas with tender, flavorful meat. They are served plain with either just meat or meat & cheese depending on what you order. But they have a toppings bar where you can add what you like. @juanderful.tacos offers 4 different types of meat but I tried the carne asada and chicken. What I really liked about the chicken is that it was tender and juicy, not dried out like a lot of chicken tacos can be. The carne asada was also cooked to perfection. Thinking about these chamoy gummies from @mariathings_az. They were so delicious. I told her that I was craving nerd clusters, that they would be bomb with some chamoy and she made that happen. It’s been a minute since I’ve had Mediterranean food and @zukispita did not disappoint. I tried a bunch of different meats, all of which were packed full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I think my favorites were the beef kabob and the chicken shawarma. The garlic dip and tzatziki are a must if you go. Make sure to add some of the garlic dip to your hummus and the soft warm pita, it definitely hit the spot. Have you tried out @zukispita? Omg! I can’t believe that I have never had chilaquiles before! Why didn’t anyone tell me that they were soooo good! I tried out @tacopapiaz and I am so glad that I did! I loved the chilaquiles, they were a bit spicy for me but nothing their delicious horchata couldn’t cure! The flavor was incredible. I also tried the QuesaBirria tacos and they were equally delicious. I definitely need to go get more chilaquiles from @tacopapiaz. I’m so glad that they are on my side of town! Have you been to @tacosdonhector yet? If not you’re missing out on an explosion of flavor! I tried the Taco Don Hector, Choritaco and the Patty Melt with carne asada & Pastor. Everything was so amazing. It was cooked perfectly and packed full of flavor. I loved the Chile Anaheim that was in all three items. It gave it a little bit of spice without it being overwhelming like some chilies. You literally cannot go wrong with anything you order and You definitely don’t want to sleep on the patty melt. You know it’s gonna be good when they use the Kings Hawaiian Bread. It elevated an already delicious sandwich. Make sure to check out @tacosdonhector. You will kick yourself if you don’t! Do you love Pudding? Then you need to check out @heypuddininc. I tried their S’mores pudding and it was delicious. The chocolate pudding had a rich decadent flavor without being overly sweet. The marshmallow on top and graham cracker on the bottom was a nice added touch to truly give you that S’mores feel and taste. I also got to try a sample of their Banana Pudding and it was definitely in the top 5 best banana puddings I’ve had. I LOVE banana pudding so that should tell you something. It was thick, creamy and didn’t have that artificial banana taste. Today is Hinamatsuri Day in Japan! Hinamatsuri also called Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day, is a religious holiday in Japan, celebrated on 3 March of each year. Platforms covered with a red carpet–material are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. During Hinamatsuri and the preceding days, girls hold parties with their friends. One of the typical foods at these parties is Hishi Mochi, which is pictured above! Hishi Mochi is typically formed from three layers of red (pink), white, and green mochi, from top to bottom.Depending on region, red may be substituted for yellow, or the sweet may have 5 or 7 layers instead. It is usually presented with hina dolls. @shakazgrindz was kind enough to share this delicious Hishi Mochi with me! I loved how soft the mochi was, definitely one of the better Mochi that I have tried! It was also super interesting to learn about Hinamatsuri. I highly suggest looking it up. I love me a good taco and the food from @la.klera was fantastic. I tried a variety of everything and a few of my favorites were the al pastor taco, carne asada fries, the big bear burrito and the Jalapeño bites. But you really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. I loved that the carne asada fries came with seasoned fries, I feel like that just elevated it to another level. I’m also not a fan of jalapeños so for the jalapeño bites to be one of my favorite things there says a lot. They were perfectly cooked and the chipotle sauce on top is the best. I could probably drown all my food in that sauce.
