Can I tell you guys a secret? I used to HATE flat lays and getting ready images but now that I have stocked my kit with pretty little things I enjoy them so much more! Some of my favorite knickknacks in my kit are feathers, doilies, agate slices & coasters, velvet ring boxes, chiffon ribbon, and embroidered appliqués! I always tailor the styling to the vibe of the bride or colors of the wedding!

What a stunning evening celebrating Alexandra and Klayton at Black Iris Estate! Thank you to the friends, family, staff, and vendors who made this gorgeous wedding happen.

This is a great example of how your lens can make the world of a different on the lens compression of the background! The first image of each set is shot with the canon 70-200mm and the second image of each set is shot with the sigma 14-24mm. Telephoto and wide angle both have their place, and that’s why you’ll see me shooting with 2-3 lenses during your photoshoot! I’ve been experimenting with my wide angle (normally only use this for real estate, event photography, and weddings) for senior sessions… I think I love the fun fashion feel it gives the images! **model is standing in the same spot for each set of images! Lens compression is the idea that when you use a telephoto lens things in the background of the image will appear larger and compressed or closer to the foreground. It's a bit like the warning of your side-view mirrors on your car. “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”
