Here are 15 of the best summer treats in Austin to keep you cool during the hot summer months! The Baked Bear hasn’t been in Austin for too long, but if you’re craving a really delicious ice cream sandwich, this place is for you. It wouldn’t be a list of the best ways to cool down during an Austin summer if I didn’t include Amy’s Ice Creams. New to Austin, but not an unfamiliar way to eat ice cream, I CE NY serves up some Thai-styled rolled ice cream inside Lakeline Mall.

It’s pretty clear that margaritas are the unofficial official drink of Austin and I am NOT upset about that. At Grizzelda’s they offer some pretty tasty versions of the classic margarita and they even have a whole section dedicated to Margaritas on their drinks menu. ’s in college whenever I took a test and needed a drink and still visit whenever I get the chance. Matt’s El Rancho belongs on this my list for the best places to find a margarita because this restaurant is one of the oldest Tex-Mex establishments in Austin.

Without further ado and in no particular order, here are my 25 favorite places to eat and what you should order if you wanna eat like Me: A Margherita and Roasted Mushroom pizza, with a glass of red wine A small (2 scoops), with one scoop each of whatever is on the seasonal menu, in a vanilla waffle cone Korean Fried Chicken & Beer combo, with soy garlic and Korean sweet chili sauces, an order of Cheese Corn, Seafood Pancake, and a bottle or two of flavored soju Bring your own wine bottle, order the Bruschetta and a plate of their pasta! This is what I ALWAYS get: Regular with salmon (2 scoops, sometimes I’ll get a large, which has 3 scoops if I’m feeling hungry), 1/2 salad, 1/2 white rice, sweet ginger and garlic miso for the sauce, mix in crab salad, seaweed salad, cucumber, edamame, masago, scallions, red cabbage, ginger, extra spicy mayo, furikake, and garlic crisps Charred brussels sprouts (my favorite ones in Austin). The only place in Austin that I can find sisig: crispy pork, mayonnaise, onions, served on a sizzling platter with raw egg, and lime Depending on my mood, I’ll either order a bowl of Pho with rare steak & tendon, or a Rice & Pork plate.
